re: Nautic Star 224XTS - magicman534
Have this exact model. Love it. I was running through four horse lake Good Friday when it was windy and choppy and it handled it like a champ. Very dry ride and comfortable to fish out of. The only time I wish I had bought the 24' was in black bay when it was rough but I should not have been out the...

re: Really expensive bay boats - magicman534
I think the Nautic star is pretty comparable to Bluewave and frontier but not quite on the level of Pathfinder and blackjack. However it definitely feels more solid than the blazer bay...

Never ridden in the blue wave, pathfinder and unfortunately not the yellowfin. But, the nautic star xts with the wider beam has a really nice dry ride. ...

re: Really expensive bay boats - magicman534
Papapogey is right. About 62k modestly rigged meaning 9 inch gps, 250hp not 300, one power pole and a regular trolling motor not an I pilot, also no stereo. 70k is easy with it completely rigged. ...

re: Euro mount about finished... - magicman534
Great looking job there seapickle. I'm not sure about the polyurethane but I imagine if it's inside away from the sun and in a climate controlled environment you may not need that. I like to tape off the horns and spray the skull with killz but only because I like the bright white skull look. ht...

re: Commute times. - magicman534
For me it's 45 miles each way. Usually 45 min to get to work for 6 am. If I leave after 3pm though, the traffic on the high rise on I 10 in New Orleans east drives me insane. ...

re: Trying my own European mount - Advice - magicman534
I'd take it out and boil it. But that's mostly because I'm impatient. If the insides are mostly gone it shouldn't take too long though. For me, getting the eyes out is always the hardest part. Post some pics when your done....

Don't need to. If I raise my voice and yell they both start crying. If that didn't work I would definitely spank though....

re: Swimmers of the OT. How much yardage you putting in a week? - magicman534
LOL I hear ya. I would be totally gassed if I tried to keep up with them. When I first told him I was gonna swim in the other pool while he was swimming he said "dad there are actually plenty of elderly people that swim in the other pool while we practice." I was like what the hell man, I'm 34! ...

re: Swimmers of the OT. How much yardage you putting in a week? - magicman534
I just started swimming bc Crossfit and a spartan race hurt my leg and foot. I do about 1600 meters of mostly freestyle with some breast and back mixed in. I usually aim to complete that in 40-50 min so it's a medium steady pace for me with no breaks longer than 30 seconds. Again, I just started swi...

re: Should I shop a boat at several dealers? - magicman534
I bought one last year from a dealer in fla bc I thought I was saving 2k. Well, the person who ordered it didn't do it correctly and I only saved 500$ which was still ok for a 2 hour ride to me. Anyway, it's under warranty now and I had to bring it back to fla bc the scumbag dealers close to home wo...
