I don’t buy that excuse. She choose to be a part of it and knew what she was doing. And the whole “unwanted relationship” and he “encouraged her to drink heavily” is another weak excuse in my opinion. Unless he forced her, I don’t see her side.
Besh wasn’t that smart in all of this either. His whole image (tv and cook books) is built on family life and cooking with the family. This definitely will kill that.

I used to frequent the same bars as a lot of the named people in this. Besh is a well known sack of shite and Shaya is no better. Surprised this took so long to become news. Shaya is just covering his arse. He is a complete a-hole too.

In the eyes of the law, relationships may not always be "consensual" when there is a boss/employee relationship.

Whoopty shite.
Besh will get an excellent attorney and remain successful and this dumb broad will go find another secretary job and complain about something else.

I think that's a very black/white way of looking at this situation and I don't agree. The women can agree to have sex while still feeling pressured to do so.
I know plenty of women cry false accusations of sexual harassment, but I don't see it being so in this case.

I take no chances.
I work in the same industry I think (refinery world) and am the same way. I’ve seen women try to fit into a mostly man driven world and don’t trust it. I’ve seen some direct (I’m a contractor actually) employees say a lot of questionable things in front of women who were going along with it. I don’t trust most people I don’t know very well and try to stay clear of it at work.

Why do you think she is lying?

Someone in the reddit thread who was one of the girls in the article:
That's the thing. Reading that thread, the person you quoted has more than a couple of mental problem posts going back the last two - three years. And that's just what's right there on the Reddit profile. Objectively speaking, sounds like an unstable person not necessarily a credible source. Now, the number of accusers makes it seem like all doubt is removed, but we've seen the pile-on effect of these situations in the past and how they ended up being less than credible, especially these days when people have nothing to lose by making false claims that can't really be disproven.
Some longtime posters here who seem credible and confirm the general basis of the accusations. That's very convincing to me. Just a damn shame because I bad no idea about Besh and thought he was a good guy. Oh well, that's what happens when you form an opinion with no real basis, benefit of the doubt be damned.
If it's true, I hope he gets his and then some.

In which case, it's still not illegal.
I mean there's starting to be a very fine line between consensual (yet regrettable) sex, and sexual assault/rape.
I'm not saying Besh is innocent. It sounds like alot of foul play here with so many allegations, but at the same time they need to be investigated if there's any actual illegal activity.
I think at the least there's sexual harassment going on here, but if they want to go hard for assault and/or rape, there better be some clear evidence.

Where did I even remotely imply she is lying?

After reading through the entire TP report/article, at appears the only direct thing involving Besh is the ongoing consensual/non-consensual affair with the employee.
The article is pretty convoluted and not easy to follow, but looks like everything else (with any substance) is directed at other managers, workers, etc. Am I mistaken on that?

At what point does this woman have responsibility in this whole thing? Didn’t she choose to have an affair with a married man? Could she have quit and went to work somewhere else before the act happened?

This entire thing is very disturbing to me. I know nothing other than what’s been reported, but it sucks to see someone work his entire life to have it taken from him like this. I have no clue if he was guilty or not, but this gives women ALL the power in these situations. While I feel for her if she had to work in an uncomfortable environment, the way this all went down makes me very uncomfortable too.
I’ve worked in restaurants most of my life in one capacity or another, and while it probably isn’t right, it’s an environment that is known for promiscuousity and crude talk. It works both ways and I’ve hear plenty of filth come from the females on staff too.

You are running an empire and behaving trashy on top of the lack of HR and very little attention to the serious nature of sexual harassment etc. I have very little sympathy here.
