The industry accepts just about anybody who is willing to work, because of the poor hours and relatively low pay required by the low margins inherent to the business. Face tattoos, lack of education or other social skills are not a barrier to entry in the business.

The only thing we "know" is that he had an affair with an employee. Everything else you stated is allegation and some of which is weakly supported. It's pretty shitty to have an affair and with a subordinate, but if that's the standard there's a whole lot of equally guilty people.

Is jumping to conclusions based on unconfirmed allegations any better?

This is how careers and reputations are ruined even when people are innocent. Public opinion always jumps to conclusion before the facts are out.

Is there wrongdoings here? Most likely.

Could it be exaggerated? Possibly.

Can we wait till the facts come out? Apparently not.

I mean, people are suddenly acting like these types of allegations aren't falsely lodged all the time.

never worked in restaurants. Why do restaurants have a natural culture of sexual harrassment?

This is normal between employees. Most are of the same age, have mutual interests, desires, etc.

The problem arises when the management tries to get a piece. None of these girls would complain if a good looking male of the same rank/ stature hit one them.

The top dawgs also push the issue. When I was in the industry it was normal to try to hit on the female staff. But if it wasn't well received, it wouldn't change their position with the company.

These guys sound like they were giving promotions and pay raises to the girls who happened to be sucking their dicks.

Welcome to every restaurant everywhere...

Man ain’t that the truth! People are constantly hooking up in the restaurant biz. I worked in 2 hot-spot restaurants while in college and I promise you, someone could scream some form of verbal sexual harassment almost every other shift.

I think I read something once five or so years ago about Emeril trying to implement a drug testing policy for all of his restaurants. It seems that didn't last long because they couldn't get the lower end employees who were clean.

How do some of you manage to walk and breathe at the same time?

You have the reading comprehension of a pet rock. What I'm saying is that the woman has all the power in this and she makes an accusation which he vehemently denies but is still pretty much forced from his own empire. Neither you or I know what really happened. What if he's actually innocent? See, you've already decided his guilt. So have many others, no doubt. That's what I'm uncomfortable with.
