Nah, the people who should have more kids aren't, the people who shouldn't, are.

We're breeding ourselves into stupidity.

I guess you're going to make the after tax argument next?

It's a valid argument since @ 50k you pay no income tax (you get a return actually)

@ 200k you are almost always paying something unless you itemize properly or have multiple retirement accounts.

It's not the same life if it's in a more comfortable fashion.

Oh, you’re right, but we are still paying for the kids. They just aren’t our kids, and they still don’t help us in population growth or even sustaining the current population figures without immigration.

Standard deduction minus any other deductions almost surely puts you flat or negative for income tax. Will verify though.

You are really close to the line though.

EIC is what I think he's talking about, but that's like under $30k a year, not 50

I'm not the cpa though, you are

True, which I believe is the true intention of lessening immigration measures.

My point is that you're not driving around in Bentleys and flying to your multiple vacation houses.

My post wasn't meant to inflame, I was just attempting to illustrate why these discussions about what is and isn't middle class are pointless.

There is no magic cut off, despite what statistics say. The vast majority of Americans live varying degrees of the same lifestyle despite the polarizing rich and poor arguements.

They're not upper middle class either.

C'mon, you think 150k is "upper class"?

What is 400k, then?

You seem very based. Also uninformed. Bet you get your assumptions from talking points.

Money threads on the OT make me feel poor AF. College degree, white collar job, make as much money as my dad at 26 years old, thread says I’m lower middle class
