Excuses are:

- I currently take care of a family of 4 on just my salary
- Only debt is my mortgage and the new car $23k my wife drives (family first)

I just built my house (20% down payment) and bought her car last year. I'm a cheapass, the car is easy to work on, and it keeps me busy (cheap hobby). Hopefully I can get it painted next year, but if I made 200k more a year, I'd probably have a Nissan GTR in my garage.

I think a lot of college kids a skewed view of money because they are basing it off of taking care of themselves only. My life would be much cheaper if I didn't have kids and a wife but I'm blessed to have them in my life so I'm not complaining.

If it runs, I don't see what's necessarily wrong with it.

You chose to have two children with your salary. Not saying you are complaining about it. But you knew what you were getting into.

I understand that. I was responding to the person that said that a 300k salary is basically the same as 50k. IT IS NOT.

-men who discuss the difficulties of barely making enough money to support a non-working wife and two kids

-men who decide to get married to a woman who doesn't work and have two children

You're right. It's complete stupidity to say that a 50k family income is "basically" the same as a 300k family income.

I'm missing the point. I'm not well off and I'm not struggling. What's funny?

I am trying to say is that not everyone is fortunate enough to someone who can get them into the oil industry. Is is really as easy as getting a process tech degree. I figured most of it was family connections ?

There are baws that work half the year turning wrenches making 200k

And that’s why the west has a negative, or at best, a flat population growth, because we aren’t even replacing ourselves, as it is economically out of reach for most Americans, or at least without some real sacrificing in our current economic system. Without immigration, it would be that much worse. Not sure this is better off either.

No, you're detached from reality of you think 200k equates to 20k a month.

You also helped illustrate my point. If you were making that extra 200k would you being going and buy a beach house, range rover, and new boat?

No, most likely you'd live the same life just in a more comfortable fashion.

She doesn't work so my 1 year old isn't sitting in a daycare not developing like he should. She's go back to the workforce when he can go to school.

Carry on ridiculing everyone Pecker. We get it, be single, slay strange, make money.

(300-50)/12 = ????

I guess you're going to make the after tax argument next?

The 200k number was compared to my approx salary.

More comfortable as in not even having a house note. I'm done.
