Turned out someone had their own cage at their house. 95 mph down the pipe is really fricking hard to get a piece of.
My 17yr old sits around 93mph on his FB. I have tried to hit him, but cannot. But this is with him mixing on offspeed pitches as well.

Where’s he going to school
He hasn't committed yet, but it will be a Texas school more than likely. We have a few visits lined up in the spring.

That’s exciting. No LSU tho?

Reminds me of that old show "pros vs joes", that show used to crack me up.

I would love that, but he wants to stay in Texas. His old coach is on staff at Rice and he will likely end up there.

Yup...back when he was younger, I would take him to the cages several times a week and pitch to him. I hit him a few times to get his attention. He paid me back ten-fold. I wont let him pitch to me again.

Hard to argue with their success developing pitchers

Austin Nola is an average AAA player, who started for LSU. Bet him $$$ he can’t make it, but tell him you secretly want to lose the bet cause itd be awesome.... profit.

No one will believe me here, but I was a prospect in HS. Was invited to a pro tryout camp by the Pirates in Tampa. Your friend is full of shite. The talent is so concentrated, and guys in A ball who never make it are uber talented.

Step 1.
Take him to a batting machine and cage that will throw in the 80s.
Step 2. Hit him some grounders and flies. Fungo
Step 3. He tosses the ball a bit every day.
Strengthen the arm.
Step 4. Catchers mitt and gear.
If he can catch he can work in minors.
Tryouts (2).
make sure before he objects to class b, he knows there's d ball. If he's dead set on aaa tell him why Tebow busted out of nfl is because he would only qb. Flexible is ideal.
The other letters,also pay.
Any job in pro baseball is a chance to improve and get to majors.

Seems doable. Baseball players really aren't true athletes.
Right now you have 53 upvotes and 52 downvotes. I've never seen that many on both sides of a post.

Dude would piss himself the first time he stepped into the box against some heat

I had a buddy in high school who was left handed and through a pitch 95 miles and hour and he never saw AA after 5 years. Your friend is an idiot

The old cable TV show "Pros vs. Joes" is a great example of how wrong your buddy is. It's a great show that demonstrated just how ridiculously better real professionals are against talented amateurs.
Former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Rocker was the pro. At the time he was an All-Star closer and all the Joes had to do was make contact and get it past the outfield. None of them did - not even the "ringer" who'd played single A ball for a couple of seasons.
The only pros who lost to a joe that I remember were those who played a sport that wasn't theirs. Clyde Drexler lost a javelin competition to a serious amateur female track athlete, for example, but it was clear he'd never thrown a javelin in his life.

Roy Jones Jr almost got KTFO by a dude who started wailing on him with haymakers and caught Roy square on the jaw

If you can dream it you can do it! I believe in your friend and I like his “can do” attitude. If he identifies as a major league ball
Player then by god he is one !
