I knew a guy who swore in high school that he was going to play football for a D1 college. The guy never even played high school football and sucked in intramural football. He's probably sitting around right now thinking about how he's going to be an astronaut.

Older guy in my HS played in the MLB for a couple months. Later on, my softball team was in a tournament, and this guy was on an opposing team. He hit a softball out of the field, and clean over a tennis court. Next at bat, he did the same thing left handed. Next at bat, we tried to walk him and he reached, and still hit it out further than any other person could.

to be good at baseball you just have to be able to go yard once in a while. no other skills matter. fundamentals are a crutch for the talentless.

FWIW Jose Altuve played in the minors last year while he was working a nagging injury. It's not a bunch of scrubs.

I could play AAA ball too. I'd be the worst player on the field by far, but I could play.

If he hasn't played 7 yr old travel ball and played in world championships in Orange Beach or Gulfport then he has no chance at making the majors.
