USVI or Maui for 9 days?

Can someone please comment on this from experience? Also, would really be helpful if you could support your opinion with some reasons why. Thanks!

If you were to say Maui plus another island for 9 days vs USVI plus BVIs for 9 days, then your options have vastly improved.
It all depends on who will go with you and what you enjoy doing on vacations. I would probably choose Hawaii. It is a personal choice. Just love the Hawaiian culture, surfing, people, food, etc. I have had remarkable trips to the Virgin Islands as well. It's just a personal preference.

I've been to both, and I'd opt for USVI(St John specifically) over Hawaii because the flight is much, much shorter. The flight home from Hawaii is brutal. I also prefer the warmer waters of the Caribbean to the Pacific Ocean.
Hawaii is really cool though. Either trip will be nice.

maui. the wailea area is impressive. road to Hana not to be missed. st john is indeed beautiful; but st thomas is not comparable to hawaii. we stayed in maui at the fairmont and it was spectacular in every way. mommas fishhouse nirth of wailea area was great food although$$$$. i would return to maui anytime.

I would take Maui over the USVI all day every day. I think you'll be slightly disappointed in Maui since you've been to Kauai. If it was me, I'd spend the entire time on Maui in the Wailea area and forget Kapalua. I prefer the Big Island over Maui.

Did both. Maui in a landslide for me. If you don't mind the travel. I did all the Virgin Islands also. Hawaii is just indescribable it is beautiful. The plants, the water, no bugs, etc. The reefs off of maui are beautiful also you definitely must do some snorkeling. I would do another island maybe ouhu. I loved Honolulu and the North Shore on the island. People complaining about the traffic in Honolulu are crazy it was bad but took us no time to get out of it. The USVI are beautiful also I did St.Thomas and St.Croix. Good luck on whichever you choose
