It will depend on the bats coming to life, especially at the top of the order! Hopefully the pitching gamble will pay off. we have to out hit and out field Florida in this game. Plus, we've proved we can come back and win 2 after a loss!

For fricks sake. You are such an insufferable basted. LSU is literally NO WORSE THAN SECOND IN THE COUNTRY right now, and you're still talking about getting the coach fired. Shut up and go cheer for southeastern. Or some dumbass school under your purview as a big shot at the radio place.

I hope he and the rest of the pitchers can give us a good chance tomorrow night.

Yeah my guess would have been Peterson then Bain, but I'm OK with this. I think it has a lot to do with him being a senior. Both from the experience/maturity standpoint but also as a bit of a motivator/rally cry. I'd be (pleasantly) shocked if he went 5; I'd think 3-4 would be just fine though. Bain should be able to get some innings in, bush/beck for another inning or 2 hopefully and Newman in the back end. Hopefully Peterson is ok because we could use him too.

If the bats are hot anything is possible tomorrow. When you have a johnny wholestaff day, sometimes you find a guy who has a hot hand and just deals. Reynolds will be on a short leash.

Reynolds has good stuff , he has experience, and he's been waiting for his time to shine on the big stage. I'm guessing he steps up big time.

I don't really think this is a gamble at all. I think starting Poche against Singer is a bigger gamble. Singer is on normal rest while Poche will be on two days short of normal rest. Tuesday you will have Poche vs Florida's wholestaff or number 3 guy on shorter rest than Poche.. It's not like Florida is a great hitting team. Need to just throw strikes up there and let the defense play behind you.

To me this puts all pressure tomorrow night on Florida. A win by LSU will force Florida to have to beat both Poche and Lange on back to back days without their one or two guy. Maybe Faedo can pitch for a couple innings on Wednesday. LSU can play loose and knowing they have the upper hand on the mound the next two games no matter what.

And there ya go! Something to bitch about for the "fans" who insist on finding something to bitch about.

Actually, everyone in this thread has digested the news really well... you're the first one to bitch about something.

But it's probably because you were already a bitch for other reasons.

Bain has the stuff, he's just always struggled with control. It's about a 50/50 chance whether you'd get SEC Starter caliber Bain or mid-week inning eater Bain.

This is the best move possible w walker down. In 09 PM conceded a game to Texas when their ace pitch. Came back w renaudo (as someone corrected me earlier when I said gausman) to win the series. If lsu wins it's all good tomorrow. If not they have ace 1 and ace 1a ready to go. Just gotta win two. Doesn't matter which two. Let's geaux tigers!!

Where is the bitching?

Sure, some have reservations about the move, but it hasn't been the usual "OMG PAWL IS LESS REINCARNATED!!!"

Not quite the same thing. Austin Ross was a weekend starter all season that year.

ETA: And the only reason LSU "conceded" that game was because they won the first game. Had LeMahieu not hit the 2 run double in the 9th and LSU ended up losing, Ranuado would've pitched game 2 opposite Jungmann

Ehh. It's game 1 of the cws. Pressure is on both teams to establish themselves..I wouldn't put us having an edge based on who the pressure is on tomorrow.
