They have an inability to actually self assess. They cannot see or understand why they keep losing.

Moreover, the moderate democrats no longer have a voice. They will leave the party and/or simply not vote.

Progressivism is rooted in relativism...ends justify means. As they inch away from mainstream America, a breaking point will happen.

We saw signs last week with attempted assassinations. I think we are on the verge of absolute lunacy and pockets of total anarchy.

Progressives will not moderate. They only push forward. The only logical forward movement leads to anarchy.

A common postmortem theme last night was that they are losing because they are to centrist. That they should embrace the left-wing and run with it all the way to victory.

This from commentators. Not the guys who shoot up baseball practice or pepper-sprays old women- those guys want to kill us, literally. They are legit crazy.

The left is just going to get more insufferable this summer. Groups like BLM, ANTIFA, and the rest of the crazies are going to go ham during the "summer of resistance," and that will just make it easier for the GOP to win 60+ seats in the Senate next year. So I fully support the left's determination to shoot themselves in the foot.

The ironic part is that "good" Dems still have to pull that lever with a D next to it while voting for a bad progressive leftie.

Trump must break them.
If they die, they die.

The problem for Dems, as a national party, is that more and more folks won't pull the lever. They are voting Pub or not voting at all.

absolutely, it is not moored in reality or objective morality

it may bounce along for several generations but its ultimate failure is certain

On economics I'm afraid that they can win on bernienomics

Their problems are

1. P.C. Culture

2. Identity politics

3. Media. People know they're in the tank, know they lie and it rubs them the wrong way. People don't like being lectured, told what to think and do and they really don't like celebrities with GEDs using their platform they have from movies and music to lecture them on politics

4. Somewhat related to PC culture but people are turned off by labeling opponents as bigots and racist fringe lunatics for beliefs that roughly half of Americans hold

5. Immigration- somehow they've adopted the ANYONE who wants to come can stance and people aren't having it and people who try and sound reasonable while being endorsed by or associated with others with the "everyone can come" stance are not trusted by the public on this issue

SirWinston and others are right in that the lesson from last night is the dems lose because people dislike how they play the game.

Um, yeah. If you think the establishment is going to throw away the Democratic Party, then you haven't been paying attention for the last 100 years. It's been rock solid in keeping the sheople divided and fighting amongst themselves (left vs right). It isn't breaking and it isn't going anywhere....unfortunately.

I think it will continue as is - the new relative normal - until the 2018 elections. When they lose big there, it will break them. I see things getting much more violent then.

Uh, this is something the afflicts both parties. Many, many posters here have stated they held their nose to vote for Trump simply because they hated Hillary that much.
