Well they lost a lot of offense and their ace pitcher.

In the circle they are extremely inconsistent and its a down year for them. Rachel Fico works with the pitchers but not much luck this year. She worked wonders for the chick last year.

Defensively, its embarrassing how bad they have been all year. People think LSU is bad... the bulldogs are a nightmare on defense. It cost them like 3 to 4 SEC wins.

On offense, besides the Emanuel Sisters and Dicarlo are the team. Everyone else is just not very good unfortunately.

I somewhat saw it coming, their recruiting took a drop.

It doesn't look very promising next year either so the coach might be fired within the next couple years. Georgia is a hotbed for talent too so not sure why they can't have decent players

Of the starting nine at UGA, the first five hitters and the ninth hitter are decent. Only Sunmerlin is below .300, but she can put the ball out and she does.

They have no leader. Hugo is gone as is the first baseman, their DP, CHhelsea (their ace) and the centerfielder from last year.

This year they will lose Maguire and one of the Emanuel girls. They are not good defensively. Not sure if the coach is gone but she better have a good incoming class because they are going to be worse next year otherwise.

One thing I hope Beth has learned, Walljasper is not made for these games, mentally she's always been terrible in these pressure games

What in the actual hell are you talking about?? Ask James Madison how Walljasper performs in "pressure games". 10 shutout innings combined over 2 games to win both games of the super regional. Or maybe the 5.1 shutout innings vs. Arizona State in the regional championship game last year. Or when she pitched 9+ innings in an elimination game vs. Nebraska 2 years ago and kept LSU alive. Or the next day when she went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run to Arizona State in the championship game. Need more?

This may be the most ignorant statement I have read on this board in ages, and that covers a LOT of ground.

That's pretty strong considering all of trash that educote used to post and probably still does using several aliases... lol

I agree with you! We don't get to OKC last year without Allie.

yeah ya right.

Last year in the regionals and super is when Allie rose from middle of the road to top tier pitcher. I agree she dont fit all situations, but nobody does. She is accurate and a smart girl. I got faith in her. Carly makes us all nervous with the rise ball that sometimes sails over the umpires head, but those are the two we need to lean on.

Sydney Smith is a year away from top-tier, and she can move up if she improves, but that girl is very accurate and very consistent. I think any team in the country would want someone like her.

It's important that that Doyle and Springfield hit well.

When they do we are pretty deadly. The upside of these two is very exciting.

Landry and Jaquish are down right now

I will still take my chances with these two beast. They are really, really good.

As for pitching, I'd start Carly first. I may go with Allee for game two,

As someone else mentioned, Hoover's knee may be hurting but she looked so fresh and energized against ULL that I'm not sure that the down time won't pay big dividends this post season.

am thinking that there must be something going on with Nicky. She hasnt gotten in.

There is nothing going on other than Beth refuses to give her a shot. Pure stubbornness in my opinion.

We know four things about Dawson: She's fast, she gets on base, she is a very tough out at the plate and Beth won't give her the time of day. There is no logical or statistical reason she isn't in over a few of the favorites but that is a debate for next year at this point.

Griggs is hitting really well,

She carried us in the regional. She was as dominant as any hitter I may have ever seen in any regional. She stepped it up big time.

So, I feel good about this …

Me too, we have a real shot if we can continue to get production and not have to rely on Jaquish and Landry for everything. We can win this Super and head back to OKC.

I still think Cunningham suffered some sort of injury earlier in the year. She saw a lot of reps with Jaquish at catcher. Beth said she would see a lot of time this year with Jaquish but that didn't happen. Weird she probably saw the least amount of time of all players and she was highly recruited

Definitely strange. But I will say this, I have made almost every game and even went to some fall work outs and never saw her miss a day.

I believe she was the #2 catcher in the country behind Hemphill last year.

She was ranked the #27 player in the country by FloSoftball. I know another recruiting scouting firm had her at #23 and the #3 ranked catcher. I think its a really strange situation. I mean Lockwood saw more plate appearances last year than Cunningham saw this year. Plus Beth has always used a two catcher system which I think works well, it keeps them fresh.

She will essentially have zero experience next year batting. I assume next year it'll be between Caccamise and Cunningham. I like Satchell but the other two are natural catchers.

What position does Doyle play next year? I'm not sure Sydney Ringwald can play anywhere except 1st, and she needs to be an everyday position player. No DP.

Personally if we went by strictly defense, Doyle is the best defensive 3rd baseman on the team. Springfield has always been a 1st baseman and is a natural there. Both are actually really good defensively.

Personally my lineup next year

LF-Andrews
CF- griggs
RF- Antoine
3B- Doyle
SS- Serrett
2B- Dawson
1B- Springfield
C- Cunningham

Probably not how it would end up by thats my best option to me. Also we need to wait and see if we add any transfers, wouldn't be shocked to see it considering we lose a lot of power so it might end up different
We would be pretty young with position players next year

Which makes this years line up choices all the more confusing. I agree these are the two best corner players defensively but also offensively and I bet it wasn't written this way more than two or three times this season even though it was the most obvious.

Beth has proven she will not make out a line up void of the name Sanchez so I would fully expect her to be at 2B. Our corners will be full with Springfield, Doyle and the new recruits so she will have to put her at 2nd base to ensure she is in the line up.

The only freshman I see contributing next season is Antoine and Sunseri (It'll be limited) and Caccamise. I'm assuming it'll be wide open at catcher. I couldn't imagine Dawson not starting at 2B. She is essentially the backup now at 2B and is used a lot in pinch hitting situations.

But yea the best defensive lineup on the infield is with Springfield and Doyle in the corners of the infield.

Don't see it happening with some of the big hitters we have coming in next year. Dawson will be no more than a pinch runner and get a few at bats. I can't see her playing anymore in the future than this year based on what I have seen so far and what we have coming in.

It's easy to imagine. If she can't beat out Sanchez this year she won't beat her out next year. Sanchez will be the new Quinn.

And it is the best offensive lineup on the corners so you would think it would be a no brainer.
