I am surprised you think Beth would bench Sanchez. It doesnt look like that will happen.

This will not happen and as seen this year production has nothing to do with it. I'm with you, Sanchez will play somewhere no matter what.

It was crazy how Doyle saw first reps at 3B all fall and spring practice then ended up never playing there.

Agree, the overwhelming, undying love and opportunity for Sanchez despite performance has been as strange as the Cunningham deal to me. Especially when we have obviously better options. The insertion of Sanchez and making sure she is in the line up no matter what has changed this team significantly and I don't think in a positive way.

No way Sanchez sits next year. Remember that I'm calling this, she will be the new Quinn for 2018 and 2019.

I really like Sanchez and want her to start and do well. Im just not sure Beth would start her the entire season then sit her down next season.

Therein lies the problem, I want her to do well, too, but it just hasn't happened.

No chance Beth sits her. She will be a 3 year starter.

Agree.

Change of subject

Suppose Serret is injured or sick and cannot play? Who else practices at shortstop?

Haha, can't change the subject because it is all twisted together.

That happened regional week and Sanchez and Jaquish (yes the All American catcher) were moved to SS in front of Dawson. That should tell you everything you need to know about the plans for Dawson.

At least Quinn was adequate on offense. Not a superstar by any means but she was never bad. She made a lot of timely hits and was a bit streaky. I can somewhat understand the tangibles she brought.

Sanchez did not look bad at all last year in limited time but this year she looked like she completely went backwards on offense and didn't show any improvements on offense or defense.

I like Sanchez a lot and want her to succeed but sub .250 hitting and sub .920 fielding is completely unacceptable.

Not to take away from Dawson at all but I think Doyle really could shine on any position on the infield. She played SS a lot and has seen reps their in practice.

Jaquish actually isn't bad at all at SS but that essentially makes zero sense considering we don't have a backup catcher with any experience

You mean bad this year? Quinn was absolutely awful the last two years. She has had her best year this season by far but she is still never met the team average in hitting or defense. Quinn may bring intangibles but she is at her very best average for us.

Apparently it is acceptable because there has been no interest in going another direction. Not only acceptable, but at the expense of much better options that would make this team better.

I still believe these types of decision not only hurt us this season but will hurt us in the next season or two as well.

Jaquish is just a freaking baller. I'm convinced she can do anything and succeed. But what a slap in the face to one of our "future" middle infielders to have no more confidence than this. Plus, move Sanchez over as well? Can you imagine Sanchez at SS? Incredibly stupid move for now and the future.

To be fair, practically everyone looked completely lost and ill prepared at the plate. I hold Dobson accountable there.

To be fair for someone her size Sanchez can hit really hard Serret too.

Serrett can blast a ball, they just need to clean up a few kinks with her. No reason she shouldn't bat over .300

I always stated she should at minimum put up around 5-10 homeruns easy a year.

We have a lot more power than what Is show cased. We need more homeruns power. Doyle probably will see much better numbers next season. She gets to travel and play for team USA this summer so I expect that to elevate her game as well.

So I'm assuming you are giving him credit for the improvement and adjustments in our hitting the last couple of weekends too. It works both ways.
