I have, I love our aggressiveness earlier in the count. I've noticed adjustments that have paid off. Excited to see it carry over this weekend.

So to those who know the game well does it help us that Janquish caught their P in off season league?

I personally don't know that Howard is the sole blame on the hitting issues. He has been dealt a tough hand with some of the personnel that Beth has pushed into the line up every day. You can only get so much result out of limited players with limited ability.

Any changes for Griggs, Jaquish, Landry, Doyle, Quinn, Serret, Sanchez, and Andrews, would be minor tweaking for now. Stance, position in the batter's box, pitch selection...those kind of things are really simple.

The one needing a total overhaul is Springfield. What works in high school is too long and too slow for college.

Watching hitters make the same mistakes over and over is frustrating, and it makes it look like nothing is being done.

Griggs used to be too far off the plate, and was slapping. She moved closer and started swinging away, which has made all the difference in the world for her.

Serret was always on top of the plate, and she moved back, which helped. She does need to do something about the hitch in her swing, but so long as she is making contact before the hitch, she is ok.

Some stuff can wait. I really thought when Springfield reappeared that we'd see a different hitter, but she is the same as before.

One thing i cannot stomach is the ridiculous philosophy where you got the batter stepping forward before the ball is even pitched. Jaquish started doing that crap and the only time she hits good is when the pitch is inside and she has to lift her front foot to move it away from the plate and do a re-step, and when she does that, she crushes the ball... Why people dont see this is beyond me. It is obvious to someone who knows batting.

I mean a lot of players were way out of position in the batters box. It resulted in people getting burned on outside pitches and others constantly being jammed. A few just have a really rough swing that isn't good enough to be consistent at this level. It has nothing to do with being bad players but adjustments can be made.

But I do notice minor tweaks ever since the SECT that has resulted in more success at the plate. Obviously we have ways to go but I guess the argument is some of these things could have been addressed more than a month ago.

Lets hope this new class coming in has some power hitters in it. If Springfield and Doyle are going to be the only power hitters, we are in trouble.

What makes Oklahoma so good is every one of those girls can put the ball out..they get 5 or 6 home runs then they get in the WCWS and hit one or two more that end up being game winners.

If any of yall saw their series with Tulsa, the last inning, with Tulsa up by two, bottom of the last, the leadoff gets on, then a home run, then another home run.

It's good to be able to always have that possibility.

Sunseri is the only player with homeruns power. Caccamise and Antoine are gap hitters. Antoine I expect to make an impact for us but she had a great senior year, she is like Landry, she drives the ball into the gap. She does have 7 home runs on the year.

The 2018 class is where you will see a lot of power. Morgan Cummins and Georgia Clark are power hitters. Jordyn Perkins is pretty powerful as well. Taylor Tidwell is also extremely powerful. You probably have 4 girls that can put up 5-10 homeruns easy.

i hope they actually produce. I hope their batting is compatible with college level play. Some of the girls that come in as freshman are ready to go, others need work.

That Mendes girl from Oklahoma is ridiculous. She can pitch, hit, throw, field, run.. amazing. Somebody like that,, we need a Megan Gregg/ Nicole Mendes type player, a few of them.

Lets hope Ole Miss can keep on winning, i dont hate UCLA but i really want them to do well tonight. Lot of people expecting Florida to choke. I doubt it.

I think this year was extremely difficult for Doyle. She missed a lot of softball and room for development with all her knee surgeries. If I were bettin, I would expect her to bat around .310-.320 next year with 6-12 homeruns and 10-15 doubles. I'm sure this summer could be a major opportunity for her to up her development too.

Sunseri doesnt play in the most difficult district but her success at the travel ball level speaks volumes. She has shown she can compete with top level talent.

Part of me also expects us to add a transfer or two

We have four pitchers Two of them could pitch for any team in the cointry and any team would take Smith as well. its good pitchers that win national championships.

I wonder if Gorsuch will improve to the point where she can be a second starter after Carly and Allie are gone. Sure hope so.

Oklahoma is stacked for 2 more years after this one. I hope Auburn puts them out.

LSU-EUNICE has a few good bats. Skains and Bishop can rake.

She is this upcoming class. She's looks really good this year. She's considered a top 50 player. She throws extremely hard. Her rise ball had good movement. Needs a little work on her curve ball but Beth will probably fix these things when she gets here. I expect her to be a major contributor. Her sunseri and Smith will likely all see a bunch of time after Hoover and Walljasper leave

I hear the same thing... at least a quarter of the crowd or more...

Funny seeing people here cheering for Alabama here at the restaurant. They hate FU in everything

Osorio is an absolute beast. We had very few good at bats against her and she took a no no into the 6th against us in game 1. She is legit.

I am a Murphy fan, think he is one of the best in the business. Came in and took Hemphill and said he thought she would be the best power hitter in program history. To bad we didn't think we needed her. She is a difference maker in the middle of the order.
