Those parents are so dumb. It's part of the game. Go play soccer.

I remember a similar play happened when I was in little league where I was the catcher, but the base runner lowered his shoulder before leveling right through me. I ended up on my arse, and was a little shook up, but I made the tag when I took the contact and held onto the ball. The runner was ejected for leading with his shoulder and after the game my dad said, "good job."

I love all the parents complaining in the background.

Back in highschool a similiar thing happened when I was playing catcher. The baserunner tried to jump over me and when I tagged him, he did a helicopter style spin in the air and landed on his shoulder. Needless to say, the Catholic High parents weren't very happy.

He was 10 ft up the baseline.

But that catcher wasn't being malicious. He was taught to protect the ball with two hands and the other kid got the bidness. Sucks to suck.

Snowflake arse parents.

Upon further review, the base runner never pulled up haha. He still coulda have made an attempt to slide/avoid the tag.

DONT STAND ON TRAIN TRACKS WHENS THE TRAINS COMING THROUGH

All you idiots saying the baserunner should have slid are, well, idiots.

That's not baseball. How many catchers go out and try to make a tag like THAT? I bet if you saw that in the majors or college, home boy would have been ejected for that play.

He protected the ball, he protected home plate, but making the "tag" like that? No. Unnecessary.

It was a bad play, plain and simple.

had a similar occurrence, myself, except for the runner wasn't ejected. Was a pretty cheap move as we were at that age where some players were far more physically developed than others. This dude was one of them and I, for lack of a better word, wasn't . Throw beat him, and he decided to try to run me over instead of sliding. I did hold onto the ball, though, and made the play.

Women in the video was such a snow flake. Kid got a hard tag to the chest. He'll be ok, and maybe he'll be a smarter base runner in the future.

That was a little excessive on the catchers part. Dude can't slide 10 feet up the line. No big deal though.

what the hell was the base runner thinking, though? Based on the video, he looks like he was trying to steal home

My guess is we have a rec league situation where the base runner doesn't understand wtf is going on and a catcher whose mom won't feed him if he plays poorly.
