If you're wearing any of the Luxottica brands such as Ray Ban, Oakley, Persol, Ralph Lauren, Coach, DKNY, Versace, etc. then you are getting fricked by a monopoly that keeps prices exorbitantly high by simply buying up all the competition and inflating prices. Oakley and Ray Ban sunglasses are nothing special. They cost pennies to make and you're paying hundreds of dollars for them because one company owns most popular brands and has little competition. Anytime I see someone with a Luxottica brand of sunglasses on I know their farts are silent because they just got anal raped

Just looked these up. Those look pretty cool. Might need to consider for a backup pair. Thanks!

yes i really like them. I actually ordered them for my 2 beach trips comming up becuse i hate taking my expensive shades down there. The salt gets all in them, and sunblock when i spray, and makes lense milky, and between sand/salt getting in hinges i would just rather a cheaper pair. Found these and really like the quality! I have been wearing them more than my others. Plus the wooden legs sets them apart.. look really sharp and different.

You asked how i liked costas... i have zero issues with mine. Get the 580 glass though... makes all the difference.

And naw i didn check amazon, thanks though

Suncloud...decent looking, but cheap so I don't worry about them.

I'm big on Persol for the moment ( I have three pair), but I also have Maui Jim's, Oliver Peoples and some old ray bans I can't find.

I could be wrong, but the guy at the bike shop said they were Italian.

I found this on the Tifosi website

TIFOSI IS THE ITALIAN WORD FOR SUPER-FAN.

But they are for sure made in the USA and in Georgia. :)

I have a sunglass problem. Probably have 10 pairs that I've accumulated over the years. Costa, Maui Jim, Smith, Ray Ban, Warby Parker, and Persol

Say what you want about costas, the 580 lenses are the best on the market. I reach for them every time I go fishing on a day when there's no cloud cover. The smiths are close and not as heavy so they're more comfortable for all day wear. Same with the Maui Jim's. The Maui jim breakwall frames are easily the most comfortable glasses I've worn so I grab those for road trips. The costas just have a little bit darker tint which means less eye strain on bright arse days. Ray Ban lenses are fine but they aren't "performance" lenses like Costas. Can't really tell much of a difference between my ray ban/MJ/Smiths but I'll wear the MJs or Smiths if it's going to be a little overcast because the lighter tint is advantageous

Gamma Ray. Dirt cheap. Polarized lenses that seem better than other cheap brands like Calcutta

Yeah, I think the word is Italian, but the shades definitely are not. Sounds like the guy at the bike shop is a salesman or he's just ignorant....

Maui Jims actually are Italian if that's what you want.

How bad are the 580 plastics by comparison? I like the MJ's because most of the lenses are glass, but the glass 580s are not an option on the Oyster Bays I ordered since they are rimless.

Breakline are great sunglasses. A little pricey but they have a lifetime and loss replacement warrently. They have polarized lenses made in Italy. They're top of the line imo.

Be careful with that. You can get melanoma thru the eye and the sun can also contribute to macular degeneration when you get older.

Costa Fantail. 580g lenses are hard to beat. Rubber lining started coming out after about 3 years, I paid the $20 processing fee and got a brand new pair in return.

I definitely prefer glass, but the plastics still have extremely clear vision.

I've had just about every pair money can buy, from 10$ gas station knockoffs to $400 designer shades (ghey I know but the sales lady hook line and sinkered me) and everything in between and I'd have to go with Maui jims. They fit and look the best on my small head. I just wish I could pull off some ray ban wayfarers. Those look great on those that can pull them off

Been rocking costas for the last year or so and just lost them last week. Going back with the Maui Jim Makahas
