Wikileaks is a threat to American National Security

Doesn't matter what side of the aisle you're on. If you support the leaks of hacked or stolen information just because it suits your political agenda, then you are a fool.
Republicans were falling over themselves to praise Assange when Wikileaks was leaking information from the DNC but now that it doesn't fit their political agenda - they're the enemy.
Assange claims he is starting a debate about privacy and national security. Why is he not targeting Russia, China, or other authoritarian regimes?
I don't get how people think we stand to gain anything from these CIA leaks. We just handed our playbook to the opposing team. God only knows how much money we are going to have to spend to regain a foothold.
I doubt I change many minds here, but the folks from the intelligence community I interacted with while in the military were some of the most patriotic and dedicated people I have ever met. Calling these people the enemy really pisses me the hell off.

If they are leaking evidence of our government breaking the law then they are doing the citizens of this country a service.

Wait. Do you believe Wikileaks only publishes US docs?

Disclosure of information is not dangerous. What is dangerous is if the information was stolen or come across by means that were not voluntary.
Now if the plans of a major advance or military operation come public before the operation that is dangerous. But this last dump about Vault 7 was much ado about nothing, as it really did not even get to the tip of the iceberg of what our spying and cyber capabilities are IMO. It did though make things somewhat tougher.

WikiLeaks reveals exactly how the CIA can spy on all of us and shares the information with tech companies so they can provide patches and they are a threat to us?
The CIA is the threat.
The CIA is the threat.

If your wife was cheating on you
You wouldn't want to find out from some random person who has proof?
You'd rather just continue with your merry little life. Nice

Just curious.
What is the difference between CNN or the New York Times printing classified leaks and protecting the names of their sources and Wikileaks?
In my opinion, the MSM expects you to take their word that they are dealing accurate information, and Wikileaks gives you the evidence. They all should go to jail, but I trust Wikileaks's information more!

The whole point of National Security is that you would like to be secure from Bad Things. But what exactly are we afraid is going to happen in reference to these leaks? Some country that believes in surveilling our every move and isn't too fond of our constitutional protections might take over? Seems to me that's like citizens of 1980s China being worried about falling into the Soviet Union's government

CIA has themselves to blame. They are hiring lots of contractors with no loyalty and giving them the keys to the kingdom as far as classified information goes. These 20 something SJW types that work for CIA want to stick it to the man.

Pay closer attention to the content. During the election campaign WL released the S.American money laundering info on WORLD leaders including Germany, RU, Greece, Italy, France, and the UK, for instance.

If this is the 1st time "the opposing team" knows of this stuff then the "opposing team" was already a no-show for the game. Shirley isn't even this stupid, are you?

Sincerity is not carte blanche for committing crimes nor undermining the Constitution of the USA much less exceeding the charter of operations the agency exists under. Which agency "negotiated" those deals with Afghan warlords so that US troops would protect poppy fields? Which agency's negotiations have thus led to the surge in worldwide and especially U.S. heroin epidemic?

I think that WikiLeaks and Assange are being used by a faction of America's Intelligence Agencies to take down the faction that is perpetrating these crimes on American Citizens.
I think these are deliberate actions done to have a desired effect.Taking down the CIA.
We'll see how it plays out.

How amazing it is that the truth is completely opposite of what you say.
We can't have democracy without open government. Secrecy is the enemy of good government. Knowing that they are monitored is KEY to our public servants' compliance with the law. That is because power corrupts. Openness and accountability is the only cure for that.

America is a threat to its own National Security.. I'm glad to see all the shady shenanigans exposed.

Maybe it's the shite that our intelligence community is doing to the citizens of this country that's a threat to national security

I have never pretended otherwise. God looks after fools and drunks, and I am fortunate enough to be both.

Yes it is, I only hope what was released in vault 7 was a false flag of old crap.
