Sorry about the outcome, but sounds like it was a good game.

That was a very good game indeed. Still shocked at the outcome. That is baseball though.

JJ you're a good sport.

This is why we play the game. Central was a 3rd place team in their district.

Amazing story!

That's baseball. One bad inning and the season is over. You have to give it to Central's kids though. They played lights out all night. 0 errors, and made every single play they had to make. They did fantastic.

Their 3rd baseman and pitchers made some great plays in the in-field to deny base-runners.

West Monroe also made some great plays themselves.

It truly was a great game to behold as a fan. I hate it for West Monroe, but Central did earn every bit of that victory.

I thought the present format was intended to help determine the best team and avoid situations like Haughton and Barbe.

Or a 3rd place team in district winning state.

I understand a team can get hot and make a run, but the way we determine our champions just seems haphazard. I mean all or nothing first game, then 2 best of 3, followed by 2 elimination games in 3 days.

It just seems to me that you play best of 3, or play elimination. What makes round 1, 4, and 5 different from 2 and 3?

Then single elimination is the only fair answer, but leave it to the LHSAA to find a way to just arbitrarily decide differences b/w rounds.

Good to see the town of Central have something like this. The people have been through so much with the flooding.

That game was sort of how West Monroe fans felt when we beat Catholic BR back in 1996 versus that ranked opponent from Baton Rouge.

Very strange to be on the opposite end of that for the first time. Be it baseball, but still. My nephew was down there with the Cupit family hoping to celebrate and unfortunately it didn't end like they wished.

It is euphoric. It can take a program to new limits. Maybe some kids that were watching and debating playing baseball or their parents debate sending them there to play sports will change their minds or can be rest assured they can do big things. That is how programs are built. Big wins where you aren't suppose to win.
