A huge chunk of that 20 million went on Medicare, not on the marketplace. Medicare that is going to ruin many state budgets in the future because of the expansion.

Wanna take a guess as to how many people in Kentucky have enrolled in a QHP so far this open enrollment period vs how many receive Medicaid?
Both are part of the law, luckily.

the uninsured will once again line the walls of hospitals, going in for "emergency" treatment of issues that would have been resolved at a tenth the cost under the ACA.

I added this to my previous post but I'll put it here as well.
The only way that you can argue that the ACA has been a success is if you believe that redistributing wealth through the expansion of Medicaid via higher insurance premiums and taxes for the middle class and above is something to strive for.
That is not something that I, nor the majority of Americans, believe.

People forget that the CBO is often wrong because its mandate is to only extrapolate results based on the data provided to them from political leaders/parties.
They do not randomly do an evaluation on programs, laws, taxes, etc and how they will turn out. They only jump into action when asked and will only evaluate, review, and conclude on information and data provided to them.
So the data is always usually skewed, biased, and given to bring about the desired outcome of the people requesting the CBO's findings.

With incredibly high deductibles, I doubt much has changed for these types of patients with the ACA.

These 20 million people who now have insurance, what is their deductibles?
I know many people in the middle class who have high deductibles now. They have insurance but they can't use it. Their deductibles are too high.
Healthcare costs keep rising as a percent of GDP. I thought they were to level off? What happened?

Since 2010 my premiums have gone up over 50%. My deductible has gone up 250% and my max out of pocket/yr has gone up 200%.
Doubling premiums in 10 years would be a slower increase than I am currently experiencing.

Not repealing it will triple premiums by 2026.

Nope
Posted on 1/17/17 at 11:29 am to BamaAtl
The cost of leaving it in place is that the entire system is on the brink of collapsing on top of itself leaving way more than that without insurance. The cost of allowing the death spiral to happen would make the CBO blush.

Thanks to government subsidies. For those who don't qualify for the subsidies, that isn't true.
We're paying more money for a lower quality product.
