I'm addicted to the cream cheese/strawberry filling, can't get enough.

I don't understand how some people eat those plain or just cinnamon ones, that's gotta be dry huh?

What say you

A quality king cake needs no filling, imo.

I assume that the people that need filling in their king cake are the same people that need A1 when eating a steak.

Bavarian cream. I would throw a baby off a cliff for some bavarian cream king cake.

Regular King cake flavor. I imagine all the other flavors are good, but I don't remember ever having them as a kid. Not sure if that is because bakeries didn't make them or my family just didn't buy them. So my food memory is of ordinary, plain King cake.

Fillings are ok but make it overly rich. I like a plain Haydels or Randazzos.

First choice is a solid traditional / cinnamon. These I might heat up and that improves taste when starting to go bad.

Second choice are filled cakes, but my problem with filled cakes is that I never want a whole cake with the same flavor. My preference changes day-to-day too much. Sometimes I like fruit fillings better (raspberry, strawberry, apple, and blueberry, in that order) and other times I want a cream (Bavarian first, then cream cheese). I hate heated filled cakes so those get thrown out before we can finish.
