I'm being honest man. People try to explain the racial issues in Louisiana and it's pretty obvious.

New Orleans was slowly turning the corner in the post-Katrina era, and Mr. Jim Letten was still the U.S. Attorney. Then he was undermined by his own corrupt staff, followed by the Presidential election of 2008, Letten was forced out, and we're back to where we were.

They should look at building a mini Med Center like Houston has
Well in New Orleans there is the new University Medical Center right next to the new VA. That's a start.

Actually, it's pretty fricking simple. It's called parenting. How invloved are the parents in schooling and/or the school itself?

It's a right to work state. All efforts are to keep minimum wages low. Weaken unions. It's a workers paradise. Or so they are told. Low taxes low education requirements. One in 6 people in poverty. It's a banana republic that is going to swallow up the last decent thing about the state, LSU.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but there is also serious brain drain going from Louisiana to Texas. With good reason, of course.
But losing all of those potential leaders and entrepreneurs leaves only two extremes: the bottom of the barrel who can't flee and the upper crust who want to retain the status quo.
Few are going to stay and fight the system when a much easier path to success is a mere hop and a skip away, which means there is going to be little new growth and progress.
