I mean it sucks for a guy to get his record broke. In a game where we are running up the score when LF7 got pulled in so many big games.
I get it. You get the yards you get the record, but it's sucks to treat the players differently.

frick the LF hype (no knock on Buga). Guice is a Junior and fricking deserved the chance.....you mean to tell me the coach is to look him in the eye and say "sorry. your teammate deserves it more.....just because."?
frick this thread.
frick this thread.

Not at all. I wasn't opposed to taking out LF in that game.
I said that to highlight the difference in treatment that LF had compared to Guice. Is Guice not worth protecting?
They played Fornette against Ole Miss until he broke the record.
They played Guice against Texas A&M until he broke the record.

I feel like LF laid down after the Les Miles firing. I believe He rode the season out on his injury. I could be way off base here and hope I am, but it tarnished his image with me. Just seems as if he didn't want to play for O .
Is this a joke? Didn't want to play? He was ruled out for the UF game and convinced O to let him play hurt. frick our fans are retarded

No one turned on Fournette

Fournette took himself out of the Ole Miss game if I remember correctly. While Guice asked O to keep him in against A&M.

Is Fournette somehow more deserving of the record than Guice?
16 carries 284 yards
37 carries 285 yards
Which game would you think is more deserving of being remembered in the record books?

However this has nothing to do with the record. Guice had already recieved the most carries since his highschool days. Go ahead and take him out. At that point in the game I would have gone ahead and put in Brosette. The o-line was getting a great push and Brosette needs tge carries for next year.
Exactly.
While the record is what made me think about this, I'm not saying the record should have dictated O's decision. Guice's health is the main reason you don't put him in for another 5 carries when we are up 21 with 3 minutes left.
What I am saying is, is that it looks like the record absolutely did dictate it. It appears to me that O wanted him to get that record, and I just don't understand why?
Guice had 32 carries when he went back in for that final drive up by 21 with 3 minutes to play.
That is already more than LF ever had in his career. Why subject Guice to even more punishment when we have just seen all season long first hand how hits and carries can add up on even the most talented of backs??
Again, you guys are thinking that i'm saying O should have pulled him to keep him from breaking the record, and you think the coach shouldn't be paying attention to if he is about to break a record. I am not.
It appears however that he kept him in specifically to break it. Is that ok?

Just my opinion, but maybe because CEO was coaching to win a football game and not worried about rushing records.

Considering John Chavis didn't exactly leave LSU on friendly terms, maybe LSU just wanted to stick it to Chavis by continuing to pad the stats, run up the score, and have a record setting performance against Chief's defense

That isn't even remotely the same situation.
LF broke the record by 25 yards early in the 4th quarter of a 10 point game.
Guice broke the record by one yard on his last carry of the game with under 2 minutes to go with a 21 point lead.

Fournette broke the record with 10:00 left in the game when we were up 10 and going in to score. He was coming off of a high ankle sprain. Why weren't you concerned about protecting his health then?
Again, they played Fournette until be broke the record. They played Guice until he broke the record. They were treated the exact same.

Do you not understand Fournette took himself out of the game because his ankle got rolled up on again? Our fan base is so blinded by the facts and want to come up with excuses for everything.
Go back and watch the game and stop whining about the record. Records are meant to be broken.

Ole Miss hadn't got passed midfield in the second half. Guice was breaking off runs of 7, 9, and 14 yards on the previous plays and we were already in FG range. And, on top of all that, Fournette was coming off of a high ankle sprain.
