Went to do dump a bunch of chili powder in the beans and tomatos.... dumped Lawrys seasoned salt instead.

The beans already ruined it for me. I prefer no tomatoes, but sometimes, I make one that uses them.

It's okay. I saw a bartender ruin a bloody mary the other day by accidentally using Malibu instead of vodka. It happens.

You couldn't cut the salt by adding sugar or another sweetener, like honey or molasses? (I have a chili recipe that calls for molasses) Or maybe dumping in more beans?

But shite, even Babe Ruth struck out...we all have disasters where we wreck dishes.
My wife made a beautiful pot of chili one night. Spent all afternoon cooking it. And I opened the cabinet and knocked over a glass. (I had a pinched nerve and I was high high on painkillers and muscle relaxers.) It shattered and broken glass went everywhere...including in the pot of chili. Had to throw the whole fricker out rather than risking eating glass slivers

Try slicing up some potatoes and putting them in there. Simmer for a while, then remove. They do a decent job of soaking up salt. It won't fix the whole chili, but may help make it more palatable.

Can of tomatoes, can of red kidney beans or black beans and some meat is really all you need to make an above avg chili than everybody will love and eat.
Make chili life easier on yourself.
Take the above advice

What Gris said. Messed it up with beans. All else was just foolishness.

Thanks for the support! I'm only upset because it was error of not paying attention, not trying something new and having it be bad. Ill get some potatoes to reheat in the leftovers.

Did the same Saturday, it's really fool proof. I brown an onion, when the onions are clear I add a can of whole tomatoes and break them up with a spoon. After that I follow package directions but I add a little more water than it calls for and only use half the red pepper packet. Makes a good chili.
