I don't want Kiffin but he's coming here. You know O had to have said in his interview that he already talked to Lane and he's on board.

He can tt him all day but there's several schools that need coaches and there's not a huge list of available coaches. Lane may get a shot to be a HC this year. So I'm doubting we end up with lane

The question is can Kiffin succeed without a heavy-handed HC keeping him in check.

This is my take on Kiffin as well. It seems the most success he will have is not as an HC but as an asst. for a coach that can keep him from jumping off the track.

I'd bet he becomes a HC somewhere

Why wouldn't someone offer him a HC job somewhere? Seems foolish that he would come here just because him and O are friends. He's gonna get another shot at HC on pedigree alone.

I'm all for the distraction.

If this would somehow ruin their season, all the better.

Lane wants to beat Saban before saying goodbye to the SEC. He's that kinda guy. Hate him or despise him, that's not a bad guy to have on staff for a short stint. LSU will pay him more than UH and near what most any other school would pay him as HC since he still has ? as HC.

He'll give it 1-2 years to beat Saban, then he'll go be HC somewhere.

Yeah he is, but that's also why he wins. He demands perfection in every sense. Every little detail is broken down and analyzed. He gets extremely pissed when players and coaches don't execute planes to perfection which creates a highly stressful environment. It's not for the weak of heart and can take it's toll on you.

Makes me wonder how much Saban has left in the tank.

frick the little midget. I would leave him high and dry let's see him call plays. I bet he can't. I hope he leaves this Saturday after the game.

Well we better give him a beast mode offer asap, and give Aranda that pay increase ASAP!

the most LSU thing ever would be we get Kiffin from Bama and it blows up on us while Sark kills it in Tuscaloosa

seriously though, I'd prefer Sark to Kiffin. If we do end up with Kiffin, I really hope Orgeron can keep him under control, on and off the field

Kiffin might be the best schemer and QB coach out there, but he is a child and he must be treated as one. And I don't think O will treat him as one, and I see that being a problem. Like a "ncaa sanctions down the road" problem.

This x 100 by all appearances.

His motivation to be here could be to show that he can succeed without Saban. I mean honestly many of us don't think he can succeed here as an OC without Nick babysitting him. If he does he could be in line for a prime HC slot pretty quickly.

Little nicky “arse chewing” his assistants on TV will not bode well for him. O said that he regrets doing that at Ole Miss. Saban treats his staff like shite. I’m also drunk, so hopefully this makes snese

Bad thing about Kiffin to LSU, though, is Bama's extended season. I imagine that LSU's offensive recruits are wanting to know who LSU's OC is going to be.

oft times the hire is announced before the bowl game.

some stay and coach.

some don't.

For Saban, there were two reasons why Sarkisian was hired - to take him off the market and to replace Kiffin when Kiffin leaves. As Sark has been working for Bama since September, whenever Kiffin leaves the transition should be seamless.

Maybe kiffin does come to lsu. But tall are sadly mistaken if you think the LSU version will be as good as the Bama version.

Saban and their Oline make him elite. We won't have that.
