The series long format works in places, but they definitely wrote themselves into a corner here. I'll agree with those that were disappointed in this episode, the running story line angle really hindered them here.

Side note though, I'm at least optimistic for the memberberry/Invasion story line to play out. Surprised no one has pointed out that connection yet. A memberberry induced zombie army presents an opportunity for hysteria/panic on the level of the WWZ/race wars episode. A handful of characters are going to need to be taken out of their current storylines though, which we're honestly overdue for anyway

Bill and Bill made the episode. Made the whole damn season. Totally worth all the bad episodes, just to get to that one scene.

I like the series long story line, but I'm thinking they are going to have to wrap it up soon.

I think the Randy scene had to do with Caitlyn throwing up member berries on him and infecting him.

Now that Cartman is backed into a corner/on the run he's going to have to do something crazy.

Just watched it and liked it but haven't read the thread yet. Let me guess, Breesus says it's moving too slow and not enough jokes while everyone else was lukewarm to positive?

Also Breesus made a bunch of grammatical errors and hinted at thinly veiled racism while blue boy complained about Muslims taking over the west.

Close?

Go watch The Invasion. It's terrible, but that's the reference.

Those infected with the memberberry virus will continue to act pleasant, but completely devoid of emotion. And they will try to take over

Only part I laughed at was Rick rolling. Pretty lame episode.

Looks like they already are. Denmark has skankhunt42 locked in a vault with his cohorts and the election is over.

Is this going to be a short season or do they have standalone episodes coming in the spring?

They had a chance to still use most of what they had and play on the left's delusion/reaction and Hillary's arrogance. Just play it out like she won for an entire episode or something.

Solid episode, but missed opportunity especially with the place they were going.

They've been doing 10 episode only fall schedules for a few years now.

I really love the serial nature of the show the past few years....

But last year was so amazing that this year has just looked bad over all. They should have never put Mr. Garrison as a stand in for Trump. It made no sense. Instead of being Trump he should have just been a Trump supporter..

Yeah, that would have been much better. Or as his adviser.

A huge flaw in this season has been the fact that they are running too many storylines at once. It almost feels like if you took a normal season of South Park and instead of making each storyline a separate episode, they just made one incredibly long episode featuring parts of each episode spliced together.

Member berries
The election
Cartman with girlfriend
Trolls vs the Danish
Boys vs Girls i.e. Butters Pickle Pressing

That is five different episodes that they are trying to cram parts of into each episode. So now each one seems to be progressing at a terribly slow pace and then randomly jumping ahead. Last season they had a central theme (the SJW movement) but still made each episode about a standalone point that included the larger narrative.

This season they are just putting it all in a blender and it is horrible. We are still getting great moments in each episode, but it would be so much better if they had simply gave each storyline its own episode then been done with it. They could still have parts linger, but at least we wouldn't get as bored of it.

Honestly, each rewatch of this season is worst than the last. That has never happened, not even last season.

I don't think I've gone there yet, but I can, if you'd like.

It was a decent episode, but you could tell that they expected Hillary to win and that they weren't sure what to do. The episode was already titled "the very first gentleman" after all.

I think they'd originally had the Danish blackmailing Hillary with her emails, and her giving up Gerald in exchange for them not nullifying her victory. I think the whole season was in preparation for a Hillary victory, and now they're stuck.

I really didn't like it, and not cause of the Hillary jokes. Bill's monologue at the end was good, but it was disjointed as hell and not very funny.

But I haven't liked this season much at all. Garrison as Trump has been lame, and so has pretty much everything else.

Member berries are a funny gag, and them driving the tiny car and all were funny, but they're too invested in all kinds of messages. They're best when the message is ambiguous and based on another story, not when they have a message and write a story for it.
