Why wait a few years? Many of us have been preaching this for years. I have been anti-Miles since 2005. I didn't join this site till 2009 and I was straight to talking crap about him. If you just think about it for a little while you get sick to think of the talent wasted.
Most players in the NFL. 1 lucky arse title out of 2006, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13. Imagine a competent coach with those players in those years. No way LSU sits with 1 NC. I can see 3 easy.

Is it possible that this is only because LSU has a ton of injuries on the OL right now? Clapp and Whethersby aren't playing this weekend. Boutte has left the field with injury at some point in every game he's played. Malone seems a bit banged up. Theuma didn't start the opener Maybe the changes are out of necessity right now more than anything else?

Sounds productive doesn't it? The job of a manager is to accept suggestions from subordinates and then do what he thinks is best for the situation.
According to CEO there's a structure in place. He lets the coordinators call plays and decide what packages will be used. The position coaches have the flexability to rotate his guys in and out as he sees fit. That's what he meant when he said "I let my coaches coach."
I think that's a very good organizational hierarchy.

Right. Saban isn't controlling Kiffin. Saban hired an offensive analyst solely to help them trim play calls from 7 words down to 3 or 4 words simply to help the HUNH work more efficiently for them.
That ain't controlling Kiffin. It's helping him work within the parameters Saban wants him to and giving him the best chance to succeed. Just like a good, wait for it, MANAGER would do.

You couldn't be more wrong. The best organizations hire great people and give them resources to do their job to the best of their ability. They don't interfere or meddle in the day to day. You put a guy in charge of a department and let him run it. If the results lag then you get involved.
The worst run organizations paralyze their field personnel by keeping command and control and the senior brass becomes too detached from the people actually running their business and getting the results.

This yo yo (Gray Tiger) is trying to lecture a horrible business model. I have worked for 4 different companies. Three of those companies had a micromanager for a leader. One did not. Care to guess which one operates more like a well-oiled machine?
I always figured Miles had his hand in the offense, but had no idea to what extent of a micromanager he was across the program. Man I underestimated big time!
I work for a Fortune 500 company that happens to employ a managerial structure similar to what CEO uses for coordinators and assistants. It's a very efficient model.
