He's got a great burst. He doesn't change direction like Vick yet though.

The more I see this guy the more he reminds me of Braxton Miller as a Sophomore.

So I take back my Major Harris because he's got better moves than Major.

Actually, the closest guy I've seen to Vick was RGIII his freshman year at Baylor. I watched him play a game against a Big 12 opponent his freshman year and it seemed like he was moving at a different speed to everybody on the field. And whenever he ran, he always appeared to be gliding because his feet was barely touching the turf. Than he tore his ACL his sophomore year and although he ended up winning a Heisman at Baylor and winning ROY in Washington, I don't think he was ever as fast as he was during his freshman year at Baylor. He was by far the fastest QB I've seen since Vick.

Young wasn't a scholar by any stretch. Not too sure about Lamar either though - he told David Pollack he threw the ball 100 yards in high school but can throw it 80 yards now.

For his size, I'd have to agree with Vick comparison. He seems smaller and faster than guys like Vince Young or Dak Prescott

Would you compare Francois to a taller version of DJ Shockley?

Troy Smith was probably the most similar player to Mike Vick in college both in style and stature. Jackson is very similar.

Pat White is the obvious answer here.

Cam Newton was the most talented QB I ever saw though. And that pains me to say that.

hey that's a good one man. Keep contributing your fine insight to this website. If you can put together 5 coherent, intelligent sentences that are pertinent to the sport of football I'll streak naked at the southern miss vs Troy game tonight. The ball is in your court

I'll wait for you to look some of those words up that I just used

Pat White is a pretty good comparison in terms of running. Jackson seems to be a much better passer though. He's thrown some accurate strikes today.

Pat White is the obvious

Pat White had nowhere near the arm Jackson has. It's strong and accurate. Vince Young never was as good a passer as Jackson is right now. Vince didn't become a good passer until his redshirt JR. year. None of the names mentioned come close to what Jackson is right now except Vick. Of course, he's got to put it together for an entire season, but goaddman-this guy is great.

Rg3 was shorter (or at least by my eye test) but had similar ability. Not as elusive of a runner but he had the straight line speed and could throw just as well.

Jackson has no where near the pure arm strength of Vick. Not as agile either

Vick and Braxton Miller (pre-injury) were more similar I believe. It's more of the crazy footwork and agility. Both crazy strong arms too. Lamar looks like more north and south.
