Mom lives off profit at Baringer foreman. Little bro got her out around 11 am. The old lady forgot her medicine bag and went back without telling anyone. Waded through water up to her shoulders and she is 5'11". She had three inches water in entire house and this was around 3:30.
Any updates from this area? We are preparing for a big loss and thankful she has flood insurance.

I owned a home on Board in Old Jeff in 83 about a half block from the North woods. Took 3" of water then.
I'd add three feet or more to that. This flood is much worse.
They said 77 was a 100 year flood, 83 a 500 year flood, what is this one?
Seems to me I've seen way too many once in s lifetime bloods. Authorities are misrepresenting the facts.

Hearing all of the houses in White Oak landing will go under at some point this evening.
Not true, at least not all the houses. There are some houses on Creek Round towards the back of the street that are certainly facing water infiltration.

Indeed it is. At least 30 years old. Many childhood memories out there. And no dunks.

I'll try when I get to my computer. I have friends texting me from home.
Latest video looks like water is a foot or two from getting in the house. Neighbors on both sides are flooded.
It's surreal watching from 600 miles away

If your're saying that, somebody else said the BREC park between O'neal and Millerville, go to Google Maps and draw a straight line from the BREC park South to Point Chanier, it's right on.

Is the worst over in Old Jefferson?
Posted on 8/13/16 at 8:46 pm to brbengalgal
No.
Claycut Bayou is rising about a quarter of a foot an hour for the past four hours. Amite upriver hasn't crested yet.
