Sure they were black and that's how he described them to be which is irrelevant, but Did they have firearms or not? Who pulled the gun and why?

I don't believe their excuse of "weren't doing anything" more than "hands up don't shoot".

Were any guns found on the victim? Didn't see that in the article. I take it no, since he was charged with first degree murder, denied bail, and the judge wished him good luck

I don't think it's a given this guy had a gun. If you read the rest, he thought he was firing a warning shot and instead actually shot someone he didn't intend to hit. By his own claim at least. Seems like the type of grossly incompetent moron who never should have owned a gun at first look.

Depending on how close they were to his house and whether or not they had guns this could be a non-story
