Fournette is a force of nature with a chiseled physique. He runs with intimidating power, and understands when to challenge tackles with brute force and when to show some shake in the open field. Fournette needs to prove he can be used on third downs as a blocker or pass-catcher to solidify his stock.

#3 in the SEC and #2 at RB. I was honestly surprised he was so low considering most mock drafts I've seen have him in the top 5. Also do you agree that he still needs to prove himself as a blocker and pass-catcher?

I think the problem is that he's not asked to do those things much, so there isn't a large sample size for it.

But Fournette is a great receiver. He has that ability for sure. And blocking is mostly effort anyway.

Once scouts work him out catching the ball, he'll be fine.

List is shite if Fournette is not in the top 3 in any ranking.

A lot of last season we used Darrell Williams and Guice on third downs- It's a good way to reduce wear and tear on Leonard, and they're both really good at pass blocking and receiving, respectively.

Leonard is a complete back and will show more of it this year, I'm sure.

BTW, it speaks to the caliber of player when we're upset he was ranked only the 6th best prospect in his class

Tell me about AP's blocking and pass catching skills?

When you run like those two do, NFL teams could give two shits about their blocking and pass catching skills.

I can only remember Fournette dropping one catchable ball in two years, and he's had some nice gains on most of what he has caught.

Harris just isn't great at checking down to his safety valve. If he can improve upon that then Fournette's receiving numbers will naturally go up.

His ability to play all three downs and score touchdowns in the red zone have scouts pegging him as one of the most complete prospects at running back.

There isn't 1 team that would take Cook over LF7.

You can find a list of the few people who have possessed LF7's combo of size, strength, and speed. Most are in the hall of fame

Fournette:

19 receptions
253 yards
13.3 ypc
1 TD

Cook:
24 receptions
244 yards
10.2 ypc
1 TD

LF7 became involved in the passing game down the stretch, averaging ~50 ypg in the last 4. Cooks had a good 3 game stretch in the middle of the season, but broke the 20 yard mark just once (26 yards in the bowl game) in thier last 5

This is just odd.

He isn't asked to do it much, but I've seen LF make some friggin excellent catches and while he doesn't do it a bunch, there appears to be no indication that his hands are remotely an issue.

And, the dude is large. Blocking just really isn't going to be a problem for him.

#2 at RB.

You are high if you think Cook is a better RB prospect than LF7. Fournette is just as fast and can do everything laterally that Cook can do but can also run through defenders. This is why LF7 is special. "He's better than I was", Herschel Walker on Fournette.

I think Gurley's success helps LF7s stock. A big, physical bell cow type RB is still extremely valuable. He'll be a top 5 pick.

the college and pro games are different.

Besides, I'm not an NFL fan so I don't really care where our guys are ranked for the NFL draft. Of course I'd like for our guys to succeed in the NFL, but I've got no emotional connection to the NFL like I do for college.

Fournette is top 3 regardless of age or position. I think if we can open up the offense more for him this year that'll be pretty unanimous with another stellar season
