Anyone else get the feeling they wanted Justin Long to be Barry Allen, but Justin was just too old? This is the first I've heard of Ezra Miller, but it looked like he was doing a good Justin Long impression.

The Wonder Woman trailer looks good, but hope Germany doesn't get demonized in this movie. Definitely will see it though.

Suicide Squad is going to crush it box office, but instead of stretching the boundaries, they're using this opportunity to replicate GotG. IMO they could have used Suicide Squad as a catalyst for defining DC movies, then spin off darker or lighter. Instead, it's going to be their best offering and watered down with the sequels/spinoffs.
I guess you mean you want them to do a Suicide Squad movie that is going all out with an R rating and everything. Then start spinning off with other movies. While I don't think that's a bad idea, financially it's risky. Yes, I know Deadpool was very successful, but there are many things that make that a different deal than SS.

Deadpool was made on a shoe string budget. 68 million. There was no risk AT ALL with it. They just went out there and had fun. SS is a big budget movie.

Deadpool was just a side movie made by Fox. It is in the X-Men/Fox universe, but that universe has been around forever. None of it has had any consistency. It's been all over the place. SS is the third movie in a DC universe that has a lot riding on it. It involves arguably the most famous hero and villain in comics. Deadpool was popular before the movie, but certainly not Batman. Trying to make an R rated movie at this point for DC, while I would love it, is incredibly risky right now.

I don't really see SS as a copy of GotG. Is the set up similar? Sure. As are a lot of comic books and movies, but that's the origin of the characters. WB is just staying true to that. SS is also much different in that it has HQ, Joker, and Batman who will obviously play a huge roll going forward in the DCEU. The GOTG characters have had very little crossover in the MCU. They probably will eventually and they are getting a sequel, but with SS you have Batman who will have his own movie and HQ who will also have her own movie. There will also be a SS sequel. Batman who has already crossed over with Superman and WW. Going forward he'll obviously be in JL. I've also heard that Joker may be in JL. So I think in some ways, they are doing exactly what you're saying. There will be a lot that will spin offs from SS. SS will be the catalyst for a lot of the DCEU.

Besides the fact it's cliche, its also perhaps inappropriate for WW1. It's not a deal breaker or anything but I hope they get more creative than just blame the Germans again. Not saying that's going to happen either BTW, just saying I hope it doesn't.

I know nothing about DC characters I would like to add so I'm sure there's something I'm missing here. Just commenting as an outsider.

I think WW got her start during WWII fighting Nazis. But I'm not a comic book guy, I'll defer to those that know better.

What I remember most about WW is Lynda Carter.
And Super Friends.

And you're right, I wish they took SS to another level. Although The Matrix (1999) was a questionable R IMO - I prefer that edge. If only the Wachowski's didn't frick up the sequels, that was a great way to go. TV in some ways has filled the adult void and left pg-13 action to popcorn flicks.

DC knows it is okay not to show the entire film in trailers right?

This is the only thing that bothers me. They show so much damn footage. 4 trailers and barley any of the footage overlaps.

I agree. I would've been ecstatic with just a 1/4 of the content shown. Leave more mystery DC!

Can't wait to see SS and hopefully JL turns out good but I don't like the look of Flash or Cyborg.

You are literally the only person in the world who is thinking this.

They just released a ton more clips of suicide squad. This is just ridiculous. The hype for this movie is very high right now, I'm curious why they're going so overboard with it.

He had a season in Californication.

They don't want to take any chances. Warner needs a big hit and this is one of their better chances. Stay away from tonight's Conan. They showed a few scenes that gave away some pretty big plot points.

Thanks. Sometimes I can go into way too much detail with these things. I think everyone has an idea or opinion for what they think would be an improvement, and there is always room for that.

I agree, and maybe it can be something that they can go into down the road. It certainly felt like it could have an R rating when I saw the first trailer. We haven't seen it yet so it's hard to say, but there may have been some opportunity missed by not having an R rating. But I do think it would have been a little risky for DC to do that right now.

I do have to hand it to WB for attempting something a little different. They're introducing Joker for the third time and that's not always easy to do. Bringing him in like this is a fresh idea I think.

As far as the rest of the DCEU, only time will tell. They have made some mistakes obviously. I enjoy what I see for the future, but I'm cautious. Like I said before, they need to learn how to make movies that a majority of people like. I don't think any of us know what their identity is right now, because it's clear BvS was not the universe builder they wanted. We'll just have to wait and see.

Marvel is David Beckham in his prime running trains on women in bars.

DC is an non-confident fat kid in the corner desperate to bust a nut brooding over Beckham

I'd be much happier if they weren't calling Kid Flash there Barry Allen.

It would be really simple.

That guy simply isn't Barry Allen.

That character isn't Barry Allen either.

That's much more Wally West/Bart Allen.

Ezra Miller is an infinitely better choice over Justin Long by any metric, for any movie role.

I like the suit better from the tv show better. This looks like a chopped iron man suit. And what's the deal with that little move he does in the trailer.

The trailers looked pretty good to me. Im a big fan of CW Flash. So i hope the movie universe doea him justice. Im also very excited about Cyborrmg and if his true personality makes the big screen.

I also like how they are purposely trying to make Aquaman the badass, because for most when they think Aquaman badass is not ehat comes to mind
