I like how they seem to be doing the Throne of Atlantis story line with Aquaman. I think it brings more depth to a character that most people find boring. It was a great idea.

It looks nothing like The Avengers.

I wish they would have made Suicide Squad an edgier movie.

OK. A fun movie with superheroes getting together to fight evil? It's not like we saw much, but it definitely looks more Avengers than BvS. I saw practically zero signs of typical Snyder. I guess time will tell...

I'll definitely say the WW trailer blew me away. Previously, I had little to no interest in the movie at all. The trailer impressed me, and I'm quite interested in seeing it now. I just hope it's not the case of a great trailer hiding an average movie. The Justice League trailer was also really good, and it gives me hope they may yet salvage the DC universe. It still seems a bit dark though, but I guess that's just the feel they are going for with their universe.

WW is the one that's supposed to be pretty dark. After the disappointment that was BvS, WB made many changes but WW was already in production when all that went down. JL, and I'm guessing the future films will be much lighter in tone.

DC is so far behind Marvel it's silly. I personally prefer if they go darker.

Batman is a dark character and it's why Nolan's Batman movies are 3 of the top 6 DC box office entries and Batman himself 5 of top 6. And if he's catalyst for Justice League forming then a dark tone that may lighten up is credible.

I just wish DC wasn't trying to mimic Marvels success, but instead go beyond.

Suicide Squad doesn't have to be Guardians of the Galaxy.
Justice League doesn't have to be The Avengers.

Just about everything in the WW movie looks fantastic. From the casting, the action, tone, it looks great. I do agree that JL looks a little dark in color, but the tone of everything looked much more fun than BvS. It's a breath of fresh air after the BvS tone, which was like a depressing drama most of the movie. We haven't seen much, but I like what I see and it appears (from that trailer at least) that WB is answering the call. They lightened up Cyborg completely. This is what they had:

This is what they ended up with:

Thank god. I have hope that they can pull this off. I think they know what they need to do and I wouldn't be surprised if Snyder doesn't have much say in anything other than the action scenes. I guess we'll see.

I was really skeptical of Gadot as WW, but after seeing BvS and this trailer, she has changed my mind.

I just want to see my favorite comic characters brought to life, and I think Marvel showed us the best way to do that. JL needs to be flat and straight forward. There are a lot of characters in it and it's not a time to be risky. As far as the stand alones, I think time will tell. I'm hearing good things about the Batman stand alone movie. It looks to be much different than previous Batman films.

But let's face it. It is what it is. We've seen Batman tons of times already. We've seen Superman. We've seen countless comic characters brought to the screen. There's not much more room for original ideas. WB tried that with BvS and it failed miserably. Even if the movie was better made, it was a dark, depressing drama and I don't want to see my favorite characters like that. I want to see them more like the Marvel characters have been portrayed. At least when they're all together. They nailed that.

I have yet to hear a way that DC can go BEYOND Marvel. These characters are what they are. WB did not create them. They need to stay true to them. However that appears, whether similar to Marvel or not, that's what they need to do. But let's wait and see. We've only seen two movies from this universe.

Yeah, she's looks quite good, as does the trailer for WW.

The Justice League trailer looks good too outside of Flash's outfit, and Miller's a weird fit for Barry Allen in general in that clip.

Watch the Wonder Woman trailer again.

Not only is Marvel nowhere near doing anything like that with a female character, they have nothing in their arsenal that can match the social impact of Wonder Woman.

You saw the cultural and social attachment that people immediately linked to a female Ghostbusters? Imagine how they're going to champion a character that was built expressly to represent their cause and has been a feminist icon for 75 years.

Yep, not to mention the Harley spin off they're rumored to be moving forward with. DC has a lot of great female characters they can build around.

That is true. They are doing things different with giving a female lead a movie this quickly. But, that is not new, IMO. That is the way DC has been. WW is a huge part of DC and the JL. It makes sense that she get her own movie at this point. It's the perfect time.

Ultimately I think what DC has to do is 1) stay true to the characters and 2) make good movies. If they do that, they'll be fine. People need to walk out of the theater saying "that was a good movie". If they can do that, they'll be fine.

Batman is the only true successful DC character in modern cinema for DC. Literally 5 of top 6 DC movies involve Batman. Top 10 for DC all-time goes back to 1978 and only includes Batman or Superman.

Although BvS is #3 on the list, it was not an original idea. It was a terrible idea by small minded folks.

I didn't say BEYOND Marvel. Marvel has their formula etched in stone. But they even took it further with Deadpool #7 all-time Marvel and GotG #9 all-time Marvel. Neither involved mainstream audience characters.

WB and DC instead decided to make ridiculous Green Lantern movie.

There's not much more room for original ideas.
There is plenty of room for making an idea better. Instead of following in Marvel's trails 4 years later, DC has good property to make it's own footprint outside of Batman and Superman.

Suicide Squad is going to crush it box office, but instead of stretching the boundaries, they're using this opportunity to replicate GotG. IMO they could have used Suicide Squad as a catalyst for defining DC movies, then spin off darker or lighter. Instead, it's going to be their best offering and watered down with the sequels/spinoffs.

Well, Deadpool was made by Fox. There's no way in hell Disney greenlights a deadpool movie
