He and his family were told he was coming up after playing LF on wed-thurs. He gave an interview with a house radio station on Thursday morning hinting that he always knew his first game would be against a team wearing red and gray (the angels)

Multiple sources close to the Fresno and Hou clubhouses and the bregman family have said they were told he was being. Called up. It's clear lunhow got pissed about the intreview and sentenced him to another week in fresno.

If that is all true, then yes. I agree with the punishment. Bregman has been talking about "keep my head where my feet are." Sounds like he forgot to do that. I bet he won't forget again.

Keep your mouth shut or wear ugly uniforms.

I think the Astros need to take responsibility if this was a problem for them.

Why?

You have a kid who has yet to play a big league game doing more interviews in the past few weeks than your ENTIRE major league roster. That includes the damn MVP favorite right now.

If the organization wants him to back off or wants him not to say/not say a certain thing, they need to communicate that to him. He is also 22, not 32.

Good point. The organization could have handled it much better.

Bregman was never called up, everyone assume he was coming up.

You can't link to anything on the Internet that says we has called up and rescinded or that his parents had to cancel flights or hotels.

Well it's likely they will one of those guys. They have the best prospects to offer. Profar and Gallo and a young pitcher will likely get it done at least for quintana. Got to hand it to them.

I would love to get archer. I think he's a great fit for the team but he will be costly.

All the reports of him getting called up got out of hand. Not a single one of the reports were from an Astros official source. It was a lot of hope and people taking an unofficial "Astros future" Twitter account as truth.

I want Bregman up right now as much as anybody but to jump to the conclusion that his call up was rescinded is just ridiculous tin foil hat crap.

If we get Archer (for a relatively reasonable cost) and they get Quintana I will be fine. Sale terrifies me

Also, the interview was on Tuesday, so your timeline is wrong and dumb.

I agree. I would rather get quintana than Sale. He will cost just as much though.

With archer I think it would cost reed...martes...teoscar or kyle tucker.

I really don't want to trade tucker or bregman or Musgrove. I'm fine with any other minor leagers.

I love Quintana, he's as consistent as they come, but I don't think he can dominate like Sale can. It I'm choosing between Quintana and Archer I probably choose Quintana though.

LMJ has better numbers than sale. If Lance improves fastball control he is a bonified ace. He needs to consistently get deeper into games like last night.his stuff is top flight.

Wonder if angels would deal shoemaker? I hate dealing in the division but he is vastly improved. They would ask a ton but his value is probably less than archer.

Agree completely about McCullers. He's still so young and will continue to develop also. Keuchel has pretty quietly been pitching well recently. McCullers/Quintana/Keuchel doesn't look sexy to a lot of people as a top of the rotation but I think it's plenty good once you add Bregman and Gurriel to this lineup. Add in Fister as your fourth guy who has been great for us this year and I am fine rolling into the playoffs with that

We won't get Quinatana without giving up Bregman unfortunately
