Also, I feel like Jake had a really good span of a few games last week. Would hope we would try and ride that out while Rasmus is struggling so bad. Having one of our outfielders get hot would make this team win more than we already are

Yeah I wouldn't have issues with Val at 2. I wouldn't mind keeping him at 5 though

No baw. Valbuena should hit 5th. The 2016 version of him is an RBI guy, and we need someone legit behind Carlito. There ain't nobody else to do that right now.

Like Deep said, put Bregman in front of Altuve so that you know he'll see pitches to hit right away.

If and when AB gets here I agree on him hitting. 2nd. I wouldn't be opposed to him 1st and springer 2nd. For now I would rather Luis 2nd.

I have pretty much resigned myself to the realization that Bregman will wait until the deadline at the earliest to make his debut.

He is definitely on the table in discussions. He was drafted with that intention and his value may never be higher than it is now.

Astros need another starter and a LH reliever in addition to a CF. Brace yourselves.

I'm upset about it, but it may be inevitable. Luhnow doesn't give a shite about LSU, and Bregman's value is truly at SS.

If he were to come up as LF/DH and even slightly struggle, his value will be considerably diminished. I'll be holding my breath over the next 9 days, b/c I believe if it passes w Bregman still an Astro, we will see Correa eventually move to third w Bregs at short.

It's tough because then we'd have to put someone like Marwin 5th. For a contender, that's just awful.

Perhaps putting Rasmus 2nd against right-handers for a couple of games might get him going. It seems the Altuve Effect is strong, and we really need Rasbaw to start hitting again.

Discounting Ryno's punishment theory, I don't see any logical reason for Bregman being at AAA, while Worth is with the big club. I don't buy the "he needs more starts in LF" excuse.

Think I heard that Rasmus is something like 4-34 in the month of July

Yeah, he has been the worst hitter on the team for weeks. It's getting close to time to try something new/drastic with him or bail on him.

Bregman is not getting traded, and there's been many articles written with proof that offense wins games in the playoffs, not starting pitching.

I think it's 2 hits in July.

Bad thing is even when he has made decent contact, his bat head speed only produces warning track power and he's not getting on base otherwise.

I think it's pretty likely that he joins the team for the Detroit series. This regime typically brings up major prospects on the road and I don't see why Bregs will be any different

ETA: I think if they had any visions of trading him he would have stayed in AA, why risk him not hitting at AAA and his stock taking a hit?

Meanwhile, the latest (and now most expensive) reliever on the trade market is Wade Davis.
