I'm very interested to see the numbers and how we maneuvered this.

I have to imagine we have a plan to get a backup 4. Once we do that this roster is set. I really like it so far.

AD makes ~22
Jrue ~11
Hill ~11
Evans ~10
Asik ~10
Moore ~8
Ajinca ~5
Pondexter ~3
Cunningham ~3
Hield ~3

This is just a rough estimate of the highest earners on the team.

He's been on what, 5 teams in 3 years. No one seems to want him despite his elite athleticism.

Hes complained publicly at two different places about playing time and expecting a bigger role.

I just get the impression he's a bit of a cancer in the locker room.

TRob thinks it's BS he isn't playing more

Langston Galloway posted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.5 in the half court and 2.9 in transition last season

Galloway

Now if only we could turn Reke or Omer into gold then this would be a perfect off season

Saw a tweet saying the deal is around 11 mil over 2 years

ETA:

"Per @NYPost_Berman, the Langston Galloway deal is for between $5-6M per season. #Pelicans have more moves coming."

Probably right around what his early bird rights were.

ETA: which would mean they rescinded rights to Frazier and turned down the options on Douglas and Babbitt, unless there is some sort of trade involved.

How much space did we have if we declined or waived all those guys? The salaries I saw listed on Hoopshype implied it was still less than the $5m he's getting.

In addition, the note mentions more moves planned.

The moves are waiving Babbit and Douglas, maybe renouncing Frazier. Numbers match up

don't need to do that yet
sacrificing Babbitt and Douglas would hurt depth at the cheapest prices in the league

Well. They can't be doing this deal any other way unless they trading someone into space.

I think trading reke renders waiving Babbit/Toney moot

Releasing Douglas and renouncing Frazier will get us to right about $5 million under the cap (assuming Diallo signs for in the $1.2-$1.3 million range in the 1st year).

that's what I meant...they can wait and work a trade
similar to what they did to fit asik in 2 years ago

Babbitt is a worthless player. He adds no more depth than the average d league player.

Galloway confirmed at 2/10 with player option...so it's 1/5
they will need to keep cap space to diallo also
should be able to entice one more player even without a trade

obviously they intend to hold the room exception for someone else
