when I bought my Tacoma, I couldn't get a full size truck with the same options within $10k of my Tacoma price

maybe things have changed in 6 years, but I doubt they have changed that much

I could be off on the year. Hard to remember. I just know it was the 4.7. I miss that feeling now that I have had two GMs with their torque limiting BS.

I don't need or want a huge behemoth that is trying to be a luxury vehicle. A basic mid size truck without all the frills is exactly what I need, but last I looked it seems like it is hard to find on the market these days.

Bought one way back in 2001. Had the 360 in it. One bad mofo till you hit 95 mph and that sucker like to throw you thru the windshield shutting down. Sold that sucker 4 months after I bought it. Was way to small of a truck for me.

The loaded Colorado's and Canyon's sticker at $40k plus. Not sure about the Tacos, but I can't imagine them being much less. What's a full sized now like 50 to 55?

I've looked at them just because I'm not sure I want a full sized truck anymore, but still need a bed to haul shite around in.

Needs a re-do, BAD! but you can get one for like $25k decently equipped. I had an 08 and recently had a 15 rental. Same truck. Turning radius still horrible.

TRD Taco is 35-37k. That is their top of the line. Comparable f150/Chevy is in the 60s. To say there is only a slight difference is laughable. Also, the resale on a Taco compared to a fullsize domestic is mind blowing. Used tacos are crazy expensive.

My buddy has the new desert color TRD. Killer truck. But you can't compare the features and tech in a Tacoma to a top line f150. Not saying you NEED any of it but pretty sure a Tacoma doesn't have it.

I have a 2014, and when the 2016 was first released, I felt the same way. Now, every time I see one, I'm jealous.

This is the nature of new cars. Everyone says they hate the new model, its ugly etc. Especially if they have the older model. But when they finally get the new one it's the best thing since sliced bread.

BS. The TRD Taco is not a luxury liner. It's the equivalent to an XLT F150 w/ FX4 or an SLE/LS w/ Z71. Those are not $60K trucks. Even MSRP they're not. Those are an MSRP in the upper $40s, maybe low $50s and can be had out the door for the mid-upper $30s because the domestics come WAY, WAY, off of MSRP. So essentially the same price as a TRD Taco, which is my point. On the OUT THE DOOR price of an equivalent trim level, there isn't enough much price difference and it is hard to justify the sacrifice of space, payload, and towing capacity for just maybe a couple grand.
