In Asheville for a couple of days, where should I eat? Also, any beers I should be on the lookout for while I'm here? At Asheville brewing now and plan on going to Wicked Weed and Wedge later tonight.

Perfect Day IPA at Asheville Brewing is excellent

If you want to keep drinking through dinner, check out Barley's, which is a pizza joint with plenty of beer.
Wicked Weed's main location has good good.
Also could try Lexington Ave. Brewery, a brewpub downtown.
As far as drinks go, Wicked Weed is a must, also try Hi-Wire, Burial, and Green Man.
And go to French Broad Chocolate Lounge... especially if you are with your SO... chicks love chocolate. (Plus they have a few taps...)

Wife is drinking that now. I'm having a shiva.

Check out the New Belgium Brewery Liquid Center overlooking the French Broad River in the River Arts District. There's usually a food truck in the parking lot.

Make sure to go to the basement/cellar area of wicked weed, and don't stay on the main level. Besides that, a show at the orange peel, and breakfast at Tupelo honey (somewhat overrated), I have nothing.

Drinking in the basement of Wicked Weed now. Just had a beef tartar small plate here. Looks like a liquid dinner other than that.

I recently went to all four of these and would wholeheartedly agree. Especially loved Wicked Weed (both locations) and Burial.
Some places we ate and loved: Tupelo Honey Cafe, Curate, White Duck Taco Shop, Farm Burger. But there are tons of other places that sounded great as well, we just ran out of time. And yeah, French Broad is a great dessert place.

Might be making a trip soon too. Any nearby trails worth checking out for an AM hike before beer?

Make sure you get the Donut Stout at Burial

My wife and I went into Pisgah National Forest. We climbed Mount Pisgah and rode on the Blueridge Parkway. We also did some trails in DuPont State Forest another day. All of it was great. There are hundreds of other options as well though. I heard Mount Mitchell was amazing, but it is a little further out and the parkway wasn't completely open to it when we were there.

My nephew is the chef at Sovereign Remedies, "a late night restaurant, Gastropub and Coffee Shop".

For brews, Wicked Weed is a must. I'd also check out Burial and Thirsty Monk. Desoto Lounge is a cool dive in West Asheville - food's real good, people watching's top notch. As for hiking, the waterfalls in the area are pretty neat.
