Better school system, high per capita income, higher median family income, lower taxes, slightly better traffic. If Ascension is a crap hole, I'd hate to ask what you think about Baton Rouge.

I'm from East Feliciana Parish but grew up and went to school in Ascension till the end of the 90's. Once the 2000 hit things were starting to develop pretty fast. Katrina just overwhelmed the area with new residents and the small local roads just couldn't handle it. I moved back to East Feliciana around 2010 and couldn't be happier. I'd rather drive an hour to work and live in the country than sit in all that damn plant traffic and live on top of each other. Still some good local people in that area but you don't see to many familiar faces anymore.

If Obama has anything to do with it, it will. Too white and too prosperous. They are building a big arse governed subsidized apartment building on airline. Dutchtown school district. Think St. Jean Apartments. Thanks HUD!

Instead of incessantly comparing NOLA, Northshore, AP, LP, BR, Lafayette etc...I firmly believe that we are all going to be better off when we come to a consensus that the entire state of LA is crap.

Only so much food, music and "nice people" and family can do for one. LA is rich in several areas, but the majority of the state is and has been trending downward for quite some time now.

At some point, not sure when, that very development along with other sketchy areas near Jefferson and Highland are going to adversely affect those nice Hoo Shoo Too neighborhoods, a la Carriagewood Estates.

It's very difficult not to see that these developments are intentionally put in areas that will suffer because of them.
