I owned one for almost 6 years. The allure of the car for many people (especially since the warranty is over for many of them) is that they are easily modded to make a good bit more power. Exhaust and simple tune will pick up 100 hp. They also do everything so well. When you start really adding the power to them not much can touch them on the street due to the AWD and quick shifting of the DCT. Mine had stupid power and I had fun racing it at the top roll race and half mile events for a couple years but just got tired of the constant upgrading and repairing.

do you guys not realize that the GTR has been available since 2009 in the US?

I guess I understand not being very familiar with it if you're not a car guy, but damn this was news 7 years ago

You ever seen, more importantly heard, a Lexus LFA? I can't believe those cost so much. $375,000 for a Lexus just blows my mind.

yes to both, and if I had that kind of money I'd have an LFA. Blue please.

Yeah, I saw one in a showroom at a Toyota dealership in Houston.

Like you said, my jaw dropped when I heard the price.

It's not a skyline but it's a GT-R.

Passed me up in Lake Charles, had a brown Mississippi license plate with "manufacturer" on it. Nice looking car.

Ok, what's the question?

Are these rare in Louisiana or something?

Not really rare in Louisiana. I've seen plenty of them driving around. There is a lawyer here in Lafayette that daily drives his GTR to the office.

because what really is the difference between 0-60 in 3 seconds and 4 seconds in your daily life

If you REALLY enjoy cars, the difference is night and day. Hell, the difference in 4.0 and 4.5 is HUGE. Going from my Vette to my kid's Mustang GT was a noticeable dropoff.

I didn't like to GT-R until I saw one in person. Granted, they should be a bit more sleek, but I really liked them once I saw one.

They are fairly common in DFW, there were two in the parking lot on Thursday.

Toyota actually loses money on every LF-A it sells. It cost them more to design and build the car than what they sell them for.

I see one all the time... in Denham Springs of all places.

And a Tesla? C'mon man.

Definitely best bang for buck but not a rare sight.

Nobody would buy a GT-R and not plan to attend every track day they possibly could.

Vast majority of them never see the track and most of the modded ones are nothing but dyno queens with drivers that think racing from a 60 mph roll is something to brag about.
