Starting to see a pattern here:

Cam (Arrested) - Great player, we maybe never had a chance anyway
Hootie (Arrested)
Gerald Willis (booted for discipline issues)
Janzen Jackson (Arrested)
Speedy Noil (Arrested)
Tony Brown (NCAA suspension) Beaumont is basically Louisiana

I know that, at least by appearances, Les tried hard to win all of these guys; but do any of you think there may have been some piece of him that wasn't in 100%? Was there any foresight on his part?

Landon Collins and Shiro Davis were about the only 2 Top 5 state guys we lost that didn't get in trouble over the last few years.

Of the guys people melted over? Sure.

Tim Williams is a big one, though.

I'm not trying to give Les a lot of credit here..because this is really odd that it worked out this way. But there's no way he's THAT lucky

Yes, was just going to add Williams to the end of my list. Pretty solid the way it has worked out, whether by design or not.

I just wasn't going as far back as McNight, but Les came out on top there as well.

You also can't forget about the Monroe kids that ended up at TCU. I'm sure some WM Jocks will be here shortly to remind us of that..but I beat them to it

Yeah, seems like everyone who spurned LSU in 2014 has fallen victim to some kind of voodoo curse

Seems appropriate, when 4 out of every 5 big recruits Les "loses" get arrested, suspended, or kicked off their teams.

Add to that, the guys we did get are guys like Leonard and Jamal. High value, high character guys.

I think its more of coaches not being able to handle the personalities of kids from LA more than miles not being in 100%. LA is a special place and if you can't relate to what these kids come from its roulette basically. That's where the wonderful personable skills of Miles always gets overlooked. More to coaching than X&O's.

I have Zero doubt that we would have signed and welcomed each of them, but I am questioning how badly we "wanted" them.

Cam (Arrested) - wanted very badly. Top of the board.

Hootie - Mostly attractive because of his relationship to Cam. Think he was a take early in the process. A lot of scouts said he was pretty soft. I assume LSU had the same concerns.

Gerald Willis - wanted badly. top of the d line board.

Janzen Jackson - high priority.

Speedy Noil - high priority

Tony Brown - high priority.

Without question our staff knew what they were doing. It was the fans that melted down over it.

if we didn't offer/recruit them, then we didn't lose them.

Now before someone says not that it is still a miss a couple of things to keep in mind.
1)No one, not even Saban bats 1.000.
2)hind sight is 20/20
3) maybe TCU developed them

I hadn't seen that, I swear. When I saw it first, I thought he copied me until I looked at the time stamps
