Bump to report back on my razor manufacture date.

Mine is B4 . 4th quarter of 1956!

Tried using Aqua Velva aftershave. While being good it is no match for Clubman Pinaud. What should I try next?

Lime sec?
Bay Rum?
Osage Rub?
Lucky Tiger?
Brut?
Old Spice?

I would buy the drug store brand stuff first since it's cheaper and easy to get.

Then you can start to branch out with stuff online

Check out this little gem I picked up 1965 red tip for 28.00. I have come to the conclusion that I like my razors to have some weight to them. Guess that's why really like my fat boy and this red tip

Ahhh nice.

All of these threads and this is the first razor "porn" I have seen. I did not know they made red tips that late. Yeah, I am that nerdy.

I have a red tip 1958

Silver tip 1959

Blue tip 1957

Red Tip is the favorite. Needs slight respect though with blade selection. A Feather in it did not work for me. Was a tad raw.

Your right I was confusing it with the recent Gillette flare tip super speed that I recently picked up.

The red tip is a 58 the flare is a 65

and I found the feather to be perfect in the red tip. but I also like the feather in my fat boy set on about 7

Proraso doesn't foam up excessively. You have to keep it a little wet, but nice soft peaks - it's great shaving cream for the money.

Soaps might be even better (I like Omega, also made by Proraso), but I found soaps to be too much work.

Agree. Soaps make a mess and are too much work

My scuttle ranks highly among all my purchases. I chipped the spout, but it soldiers on.

I do more menthol shaves in the summer but I can't do cold water for the entire shave.

I'm using a basic Edwin Jagger razor. I'm still trying out different blades. I've liked everyone I've tried except for the Astra blades. They seem to pull my beard. Using Art of Shaving cream and aftershave, but I'm looking for alternatives right now. I also use an alum bar after I shave.
