was she driving? Why bring that up. You can be drunk as a passenger, not a driver.

What I don't get is why this thread is 25 pages because it was a lambo, when people die in simple car accidents daily.

Like others said, this process is not quick and I'm sure regardless of how good the lawyer is her family will see money. He probably won't see jail though. I knew a guy that caused an accident resulting in death and he didn't have a clean system and he didn't go to jail. (probation)

This is like the Will Smith case last month, a big story for us to debated when no one really knows what happened only to be forgotten by the next big story of similar scope.

Is drunk driving cause for punitive damages in LA in the wrongful death claim? Insurance companies don't/can't cover punitive damages so it looks like this dude will be paying a chunk to her family and to his soon to be ex wife. Regretful and costly decision to show off in the Lambo

This whole thing is a tragedy. What supprizes me most is this gets 480+ replies and the epidemic of poverty and violence in every major metropolitan area in the country is largely ignored on a daily basis.

Billions of taxpayer dollars have gone toward addressing both problems and there is a new thread on this board almost daily discussing poverty and violence in New Orleans alone. Violent crime rates are down and America's impoverished would not even be considered poor in many countries.

If the driver's name was released in the initial report the thread would have probably only been a few pages.

I believe I read that he was ejected from the car before it hit the flood wall. The area between the street and the wall is grass, so I could see him getting only minor injuries from that.
