My buddy is getting into the market for a lower-end center console. He just asked me if I had heard of the Bayliner Element F18. I didn't even know that bayliner made a center console. Looks like they come in 16' and 18' lengths. I quickly built one on their website with just about all of the upgrades you could possibly want and the total price came in at $25,000. I told him 18' was a little on the short side for my liking, but other than that...anyone have any info/opinions on them?

Did they seriously put a center console on a pleasure boat hull? Look at the bow. Why on earth would they do that?

Bayliner has been the worst built boat for the last 30 years. I have listened to my dad and his friends use "Bayliner" as the butt of their lake jokes since I was a young boy.

Same here

I've also heard "Well at least it's not a Bayliner" a bunch of times

Do not under any circumstance buy a Bayliner

Or better yet: Friends don't let friends but Bayliners.

In all honesty it's basically a disposable boat.

I don't know anything about Bayliner center consoles. However, when we lived in Charlotte, we bought a Bayliner capri to cruise around Lake Norman.

It was in great shape and only paid $5000 for it. Kept it for two years, never had a problem, always ran fine, even skied behind it. Sold it before moving back down South for $5500.

Judging from the comments here, I must of been lucky.

gotta love the 18' with a T-Top

OP check out express if your looking for a reasonably priced 18-20' bay boat. Could get one rigged out with TM basic GPS, etc. for the same price point and they are a well made proven hull.

If you do buy it I would suggest you look around for an Chrysler outboard (yes youngins they used to make outboards) - then you would have a motor to match the quality of the boat.
Bayliner - nope nope nope

Im not saying its not a piece of crap.

It does look like a nice compromise between fishing and pleasure boating.

I would not want to take much of a wave with that hull.
