Do you eat the shells?

My wife eats the shell of sunflower seeds. I also had a buddy in high school that would eat roasted peanuts with the shell on.
I tried both just to see, but I think it's weird as hell, and definitely not something I would make a habit of. Anybody else do this?

I was eating them in the shell, but not eating the shell. One came apart and splintered. It got stuck in the top of my throat and I had to have it removed. Will never eat a sunflower seed in a shell again.

Sometimes for sunflower seeds. Depends on if I have somewhere to spit them and how much I have.

i don't eat sunflower seeds at all. just seems like too much work.
But, i have known people who eat peanuts, shell and all.

I'll eat a couple sunflower seeds with the shell as soon as I put them in my mouth. Once they get some moisture on them, I crack the rest.
