Chip Kelly should be option #1.

There would be an excitement around the program from the opening gun.

Harris is in many ways a prototypical Kelly QB. He and Buga running up tempo? Forgetaboutit.

Yea this is true he did really good. I thought he was done at UF especially after the LSU beat down that made him actually cry..

I'm not sure why people are so fascinated with Kelly. He is an awful fit for the culture, he has no ties here, and his offense can be stopped by elite defenses.

Such busch league thought, did Saban have ties here? No. I'm not gonna even comment on the 'culture" whatever the hell that means, numerous BCS bowls and playing at a high level is enough for me... "Culture"

oh

the same "scouting services" that LSU used?

also isn't LSU still on probation for recruiting violations?

Yeah that was based out of Houston and IIRC Shepard was involved.

LINK

Alabama will eat Kelly's offense alive every time, it's a spread running attack based on speed to the edge and wide splits.

Do you want to see that dink & dunk shite all over the field?

I'd be excited about having an explosive, exciting, disciplined, efficient offense on the field. One that will make us a top 5 run offense.

Too bad Les can't even get a QB to dink and dunk.

His defense is made to stop us, Alabama's always had trouble stopping the spread. Which is why Les thought the option was their cryptonite

I could see him wanting to take on the SEC gauntlet out of a sense of challenge.

Yep, he's done ok in the NFL, now time to step up to the SEC.

harris > thomas

also i'm lol'ing at people questioning kelly's offensive abilities when he's done quite OK in the NFL

scheming for NFL success > scheming for SEC success

And yet his track record for success at either of those is poor.

Edit: we've all seen what a "hurry up and put your defense back on the field" offensive style can do for you over the long haul...its called the big 12

You have to admit his efforts against LSU and Auburn look poor. Talented d-lines completely shut him down and he has no answer.

well LSU in 2011 had a "once in a generation" type of defense. that D made a lot of teams look silly

bama's efforts against LSU that year offensively were poor, too. they won a national championship, though

and that oregon team did better against auburn than the vastly more talented LSU team did that year. plus the oregon D held that auburn team in check (something people seem to think is impossible for a kelly-coached team)

In a terrible NFC East. And we see what happens when smart coaches learn his tendencies. His personnel decisions alone make him a questionable hire.

Didn't he have a Heisman candidate running back? If you don't get first downs, it doesn't matter if you run or pass.
