Who other than Saban has more wins than Miles since his tenure at LSU?

Head Coaching Changes since Miles' Tenure:

Arkansas: 4. Bert sits at 5-4 and unranked.
Auburn: 3. Offensive genius Malzahn is 5-4 and unranked.
Texas A&M: 3. Offensive genius Sumlin is 6-3 and unranked.
Ole Miss: 3. Offensive genius Freeze is 7-3 and unranked.
Who cares about Miss State.

I think this is a WILD exaggeration of Saban. I dont know if LSU fans think this to make themselves feel better...but Saban is not a horrible mean nasty person like everyone seems to want to believe. Miles and Saban likely both have a-hole traits.

Its stupid that LSU fans need to stoop to this level just to grasp for something.

He's lost one game this season to what is obviously a lot better talented team. Check out the number of seniors & jrs, most who will declare for the draft, on that roster. He is not anywhere near the hot seat. Good Lord.

Does it matter ole miss has beaten little nicky 2 times in a roll, something LSU coach miles can't do and never will again, bank on it.

And LSU beat Freeze last year, and I expect will do so this year too.

That's like boasting about how Sumlin beat Saban once; Miles has owned him too.

neither the administration nor the fan base has decision making authority on firing a coach.

the ultimate decision makers are the big donors and ex players.

also, as long as the coffers are refilled every year and the majority of games are won there IS NO REAL REASON TO FIRE THE HC.

that's right, while the goal of the football team is winning the NC it is not the top goal for these decision makers. want yes; need, no.

this may be the dumbest thing I have seen on here.

How has OM fared with those 2 victories over Bama?

While winning championships is ideal, after the Sid Ortis story, I'll take the damn fine man who truly values the importance of life. I can accept his deficiencies as a head coach. Alabama and their arrogant fan base deserve Saban.

If this is all you want from a coach that would be acceptable for 200k a year. No business would pay a CEO 4 million/yr to be an all around good guy.

You are a beta.

This isn't the untied way or Red Cross.
I'm happy Les miles has a heart, good for him. frick I dont think that expecting too much.

For some of you to be complacent and Ok with being second place and Alabamas little brother is embarrassing.
To justify it by mentioning a poor kid that passed away from an illness is even worse.
You should be ashamed.

GDIAF, or better yet go to Nola and become a Tulane fan.
Loser.

And Ole Miss lost to Memphis. Memphis. Mutherfricken Memphis.

And the same Florida we beat.

No, Alleva cleared that up for us a couple of years ago. The goal is NOT to win championships, and we are achieving that goal consistently every year.

But it should also matter that LSU is still 7-1 while the team that beat him twice is 5-3. I wanted the win as well but this team was not PHYSICALLY up to the challenge based on the style we play. It will run most teams down, but not this team.

We are recruiting bigger d-line players and linebacker now with the new coaching changes. Unfortunately, that change is not happening on the offensive side. I think it would benefit LSU to allow the offensive linemen to carry the weight of 320lbs across the board with the exception of the center position. Just think two massive tackles at 325lbs and two guards at 315 lbs. If we're going to run that style, we need to be able to maul Alabama doing it also.

The new motto should be, if it can't maul Alabama then it's not big enough, strong enough, or good enough.

The reason for the OP was to point out the reality of the situation at LSU. Everyone would want Les to adapt and change. That's Just not going to happen. Do I think he's overpaid? Duh, look at my name.

So, decide on your own which choice to make.

By the way, only an arrogant alpha like Makinbacon would think that mentioning Sid was for effect. Prior to Sid, I would probably be in the opposite camp. Miles' handling of that unfortunate and tragic situation changed how I view the man. I will never be embarrassed to mention a true Tiger like Sid. Kid had more courage and smarts than most of the posters on this board.

And by the way porkman, GFY!

How about coming up with a game plan different than the last 6 times you have played Bama. And how about making some in game and halftime adjustments. Don't have to be a win at all cost, egomanic to do this.

I like CLM and think it would be a huge mistake to get rid of him but I am also a die hard LSU fan and hate this continuing domination that alabama has against us. The quote above is 100% accurate and is not some ignorant or mean spirited rant by a 18 yo college punk that doesnt deserve a response.

I would honestly like to hear a rational, level headed, intelligent sounding individual ask CLM this question at his next Coaches show in BR. Not that I think CLM would actually fully answer it but who knows its worth a shot right?

If all of us fans would be honest enuf to admit it we probably thought that this years team had a legitimate chance to run the ball well against Bama (between the tackles) considering how dominant LF7 and our Oline had been BUT it became very obvious well before halftime that we could not do that against 9 man fronts so we needed to tweak our approach in the 2nd half (and by tweak I mean completely alter) BUT once again from what I saw we did not do ANYTHING ANYTHING different after halftime. I wont sit here and lay out a "what we should have done" X's an O's breakdown because Im not a football expert but everyone that watched the first half knew that if LSU didn't change their approach that Bama would roll us in the 2nd half and damnit if CLM and company didnt just keep on keepin on with the same old plays.
Its just really hard to defend and I would like to hear him attempt to address it.

Bull shite! I'm fricking pissed we don't win the SEC or our division!

Aren't you? You don't think he's highly paid and expected to at least win the west?

Geeeeez, you're wanting our program to not earn at least those goals? All because he's a good man?

Based on actually data. No.

Nick Saban - 7.0 million (8-1)
Kevin Sumlin - 5.0 million (6-3)

Les Miles - 4.3 million (7-1) should be 8
Hugh Freeze - 4.3 million (7-3)
Gus Malzahn - 4.1 million (5-4)
Dan Mullen - 4.0 million (7-2)
Bert - 3.95 million (5-4)
