You guys do realize that as people move from cable to Internet supplied content that the cost of the Internet content will increase right? At the end of the day you will be paying roughly the same dollars but for only the channels you want instead of those plus a bunch you don't want.
You'll get less for same price. See how Netflix keeps increasing its streaming price plus you have to pay for Internet access. Add in HBOGO and one or two others and you are easily at $80 per month.
I do realize there are kickers. My friend is nice enough to lend me his Cox login info, so I get all those perks. My GF, her sister and I share passwords for HBO Now, Hulu Plus, Netflix and Amazon Prime. So, it does take some help. But until the content providers like Netflix or Hulu start to really clamp down on password sharing, this will be the norm for a while.
The cable companies are going to be in trouble. Granted, they still have people like all our parents that are too stubborn or afraid to make the switch because they like their reliable services and have no problem paying for the convenience.

There are communities that chip in to pay for something like NHL Gametime. Then they create an app where you can literally watch any NHL game for free in perfect HD. In 10 years, this'll be the norm

I will be curious to see what happens to cord cutting when services like HBO and ESPN start limiting the devices that each account can access, while making it a pain in the arse to remove/add devices.
