Enjoyable episode. The scene with the captain in the corridor was tense.

I don't really understand why the fisher king needed this elaborate plan. Why didn't he just get in the ship to leave or use it to communicate?

Breaking the fourth wall was odd but it worked.

The solution to ghost Doctor is one they could use a lot more if they bothered. Things that appear set in stone can still easily be changed in a deceptive way. I always wondered why Matt Smith didn't go save Amy and Rory and then place the tombstone in that graveyard over an empty grave.

Next week looks similar to robot of Sherwood. But it looks like it stars a kid. That's always a risky proposition.

The kid is Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones and she's a really good actress. Like she's someone who will be getting solid work for the next 20-30 years unless she wants to quit acting or ends up in rehab.
It's also the first of another two-parter.

I've had a lot of problems with this season. This week's episode was kind of a chore to get through.

I kind of always assumed anyone who would be a Doctor Who fan would also be a Game of Thrones fan.

That's Arya MF'in Stark, man.

SPOILERS

- An odd one tonight

- Really good performances by Capaldi, Coleman, and Williams

- One of those episodes where the tone kept shifting.

- Worst bad guys ever. Seriously, they sucked. Even the fricking Slitheen were more threatening.

- Finally got an answer to the 'why did I choose this face thing'. A bit underwhelming, but expected.

- Some good comedic moments.

- Nothing really new, but the Doctor-Clara discussion of what happens after was really good.

- This season's 'Robot of Sherwood'

Nope. Not a fan.

I haven't had a chance to watch the latest episode yet.

Finally watched it. A few spoilerish thoughts:

Pretty good episode. Obviously very reminiscent of robot of Sherwood, as expected. But the girl's storyline has potential.

Is she the hybrid Davros talked about? Certainly these are two warrior races. Maybe not, but if not then it's more foreshadowing of the coming hybrid threat.

I'm glad they put the issue of the doctor's face to rest. It was as good an explanation as any.

We got to see 10 again, which was great, and we got to see Donna again, which was... Sad... I'll never forgive 10 for what he did to her.

They really are laying the emotional groundwork on thick this season thus far for Clara's death/departure.

The girl did a great job and was very likeable. Basically everything the doctor could want in a companion. Which is why it will be so hard on the doctor if she turns out wrong. There certainly seemed to be a hint of menace in her eyes in the last scene. Him saving her is not long after the saving of boy Davros, who also seemed innocent at the time.

End spoilers

SPOILERS

- So much better than last week

- A Clara-lite episode

- They're laying on the Clara foreshadowing pretty damn thick.

- Capt. Jack reference

- Really good, well-rounded script. Some dark stuff mixed in with plenty of humour and some nice references.

- Great final scene.

It hasn't aired here yet, but I'm honestly going to be devastated when Clara leaves. GOAT New Who.

Great episode! They've created a really interesting character, in having someone's mission be to deal with the doctor's collateral damage. I wonder how she would deal with Clara's death, if indeed this is how she leaves the show.

Williams is a much better actress than I give her credit for. She was way better in this latest episode than she ever has been in Game of Thrones IMO.

This will be the second time a woman is somehow tied to the Doctor through time and space. Clara was the impossible girl always there saving the Doctor. Now Williams has been made immortal by the Doctor and this able to follow him at least through time.

Too bad she had to use that other med kit on that douche guy. Wonder if he's immortal now too?

Was definitely a solid episode, and I enjoyed the angle.

The foreshadowing for Clara is killing me. Have any companions just outright died before?

Yes. Adric's the only one who appeared in more than a single story/series, though.

Rory died at least 4 or 5 times.
River song died the first time we met her.
Donna met a fate worse than death.

Apparently, she's going to be in an episode later this season. I think she's going to be in the 10th episode -- and the talk is the only actor in the 11th episode will be Peter Capaldi. So I'm wondering if she ends up murdering Clara....
I would love it if she would become like River Song and drop in for an episode or two every year. Or if she ends up with Missy. Speaking of -- we are long overdue to see the inside of her TARDIS.
