The difference? Within 500 miles of NOLA, the cheapest C6 Z06 is $25k and average price is $47k. The cheapest Grand Sport is $32k and the average is $46.6k.

Or I could go back and grab the $5,000 Camaro from earlier, get a lot of good coke, and a lot of upper class hookers.

And have a shitty car that isn't comfortable and rattles like crazy no matter how nice it is. Go for it

And you would still probably have enough money left for long tubes, a catback, ported heads and a cam.

Because an older Camaro is one of the trashiest looking cars imo

Nothing says "I'm out on parole" like a 4th gen Camaro.

I haven't asked which of these 2 cars is faster a single time. What are you talking about?

You said you wanted to go to the track with your car. Typically people who buy cars with the intention to put down some laps at the track want a fast car.

Are you calling a stroked 383 in a Camaro slow?

Or a Z06 slow?

This beast certainly isn't trashy and she can handle a curve just fine

If you think that F-body is in anyway close to the C6 Z06 then there is something wrong with you. I'm not hating on the F-body, one of my favorite cars is the last generation Trans Am but to buy an used F-body over a used Z06 is idiotic.

Do it right. Spend 15 to 20 k on a late 60s model Camaro and then (being that it costs 15-20 and is already a nice car) throw another 5-10 grand at it and have an awesome car that will last a lifetime and allow you to repair damn near anything on your own.

An early 70s model Chevelle SS has always been on my mind, but I think I'd like to do that later in life. For now, I'd prefer the extra performance and luxury gained from newer vehicles.

You'll be hard pressed to buy a nice Gen 1 Camaro for $15k.

It's really not much of an argument if talking about handling. It would take $5000 in suspension alone to make a 4th gen Camaro handle like a C6 Z06...but I think you know that.

I'm thinking about getting a car for weekends and a track car occasionally. Either an '05+ Z06 for $20-25k or buying an older model Camaro for $3-7k and putting $5-6k in the car as upgrades.

Don't forget the cigarettes and chest and neck tattoos.

Hell, go for a sleeve.
