This dude wasn't racially driven to kill those reporters, dude.
Then why did the shooter say that he ordered a gun 2 days after the S. Carolina church shootings:
"Why did I do it? I put down a deposit for a gun on 6/19/15. The Church shooting in Charleston happened on 6/17/15... The church shooting was the tipping point...but my anger has been building steadily...I've been a human powder keg for a while...just waiting to go BOOM!!!!"

I just don't know that there is a cure for evil outside of being a believer.
I believe there is a difference in certain mental health cases and evil.. but that's a whole different discussion that is just not the place for here.
This man had a history of anger issues, yes.. but he also was a racist and full of enough evil to kill two innocent people.
Any ways, just seeing another officer was killed in Louisiana tonight.

My guess is that he was no more than 6 feet from the reporter and her interviewee.
Did it look like the reporter recognized the shooter after she finally saw him?

Not to anyone in particular but CNN said LE was put on his trail by a license plate reader on the interstate. What the hell is that?
It is exactly as it sounds. If you know the identity of a person, run their name. Get their plates. When they pass a reader on the interstate, it notifies LE.

The shooter was in a rental car. Shooter's car was parked at the airport where he obtained rental car.
Anyhow, if they're looking for a license plate, bulletin goes out and the reader scans the plates from the LEO's car. LEO has to manually enter state info to see if it's a match.
That's how it was explained at the presser.

It works either the way. Typically, not really a fan of the idea. However, in this instance it may have saved additional lives.
That's off the actual topic anyway. Just noticed nobody had answered the guy's question. This is a disturbing, sad story. Thoughts and prayers for the victims' families.

This guy didn't seem crazy. He seemed to have it under control. He was evil. Saying he is crazy lets people thing they could have done some kind of mental check to stop this guy. He was evil and we cannot stop that.

I have worked with many obsessive and paranoid people. What are we going to start reporting everybody to the police now who is obsessive and paranoid? The most important thing he was was evil. And we can never stop evil people from harming others.

Millions of racists in the world yet very few would actually kill someone. Looking at the reporters being murdered, the church massacre, the Louisiana theater shooting, and Sandy Hook tragedy we see a handful of mentally ill individuals who have their warped minds stuck on a subject and it results in violence. The Louisiana theater shooter was some paranoid government conspiracy theorist and The latest shooter and Dylan Roof used race as their out. I wish the government would open mental health facilities and reduce welfare funding.

Have they interviewed or found any of this dudes relatives? All I've seen were pics and videos he posted of himself from HS in California and playing with his cats.

Rhino, the latest shooter does say Charleston sent him over the edge, but he also said he was bullied for other reasons over the years. IMO this guy just seemed to be f'd in the head more than trying to be in a race war.

This is a pretty typical workplace shooting. The personality issues that likely led to his firing (the station manager talks about his "anger") re-emerge in the shooting. If the race issue had not been available, he would have blamed something else. He would never blame himself (workplace shooters never do).
This guy did wait a long time - usually the shootings take place shortly after the firing.
For a long time, we've had an environment where being mistreated at work (or fired) is often considered a far more serious offense than if someone is hurt or even killed through the employer's acts. An employee discriminated against can recover punitive damages, but an employee horribly disfigured by an action of his employer can usually not recover punitive damages (and is usually limited to workers compensation).
I wonder if this upside down priority contributes to these shootings. You can always get another job, you can't get another arm or leg.

FBI expert on CBS just called Flanagan a "classic injustice collector"
Meaning a person that accumulates injustices both real and perceived and creates a "case" for violence in their mind as a reaction.
Racism both real and imagined is not the driving factor in this case, it is one of a myriad of contributing factors. He wrote his manifesto to justify his violence and also to "frame" his story in his own words for the news industry that rejected him. He filmed himself committing murder and sent in his manifesto to ABC News as the ultimate "see I told you so" validation of his ability as a reporter.
His narcissism fed his misguided beliefs that he should be a successful on air personality, despite the consensus that he was not good at his job. So he invented personal episodes and conspiracies to justify his professional failures.
Praising the VaTech shooter and bringing up Charleston seems on the surface like he was adding depth to his story to make it more salacious. In reality he was just another mentally ill person with a legally purchased gun using violence to make a misguided statement.

We have already forgotten the Houston workplace murder from June LINK
that happened in the heat of the moment of being fired. Race has never entered the discussion of this case because race wasn't a factor, just rage.
Flanagan was a mentally ill person that used false claims of racism to justify his deluded thoughts and the violence he committed.

Do I think this guy experienced some forms of racism in the industry he was in....Yes.....Do I think he made up and fabricated soem claims ...yes.
This guy was fired in 2013. The day he was fired he was removed from the building by police and the camara guy he killed filmed him being led out the building that day. They were so farful of him, that they hired police to guard the doors 2 days after he was fired.
This guy crazy and just evil. You cant claim racism then applaud the Columbine killers right along with calling out Dylan Roof. He was mentally disturbed, but he knew well enough to plan out a possible escape plan since he was caught 3 hours away from the scene.
May he burn and be tortured for eternity
