"A guy that is a once-in-a-lifetime-type player and I think you are going to see that more and more from him as the season goes along. I've done this for 27 years, he's the best offensive player I've seen at LSU. The very best."

Can the season get here already?

Is he seeing this fall's practices? Because LF's freshman season, while nice, was nowhere near good enough to,deserve that kind of ridiculous hyperbole.

He may be right. Think about the damage he did as a freshman and the lack of experience at this level. When LF said not long ago that the game slowed down for him that meant bad things for the opponents.

LF didn't start off as well as he ended the season, but didn't he break an LSU freshman rushing record?

Also, everyone's talking about Guice and the QB's and linemen, but Cam said in the spring that Fournette was the most improved player at the beginning of practices. We're probably all taking him for granted right now. I'm looking forward to big things from him.

It may be semantics, but he should have said, "I think he will becomes the best," or "has the potential to be the best."

His freshman year, while great, was not the best offensive season by even a RB in 27 years let alone an offensive player.

This kind of hyperbole does Fournette no good...

This backfield is just obnoxious. It's almost unfair.

The more I look at our position groups, the more I seem to be saying this.

Wrong... At the end of the season last year it was CLEAR he is an elite college running back.

Fournette trucks Matthews

Can you really watch that video and say he doesn't deserve the hype???

I don't think he was talking about stats, but how good he is and the tools he has pound for pound.

I'm as excited as anyone to see what he's got this year but that dude tucked up and tried to tackle him like a school girl, pick a better example

'97 Faulk, Collins and Mealey was a pretty obnoxious backfield.

Mike Detillier speaks in constant hyperbole on every Louisiana football topic. That being said, I hope he is correct.
